And now we are in the dining room, together with our breakfast menu which is presented so nicely on our respective plates. With an incredibly awkward atmosphere, without any of us taking the initiative to break the silence that felt so suffocating.

 

I, who was still annoyed and embarrassed by the incident earlier, just kept quiet and supported my chin, stirring the chicken fried rice in front of me with an extraordinary feeling of laziness.

 

While Richard was busy twirling his fork, rolling the spaghetti bolognese until it filled his fork before he returned it to his plate instead of eating it directly.

 

Occasionally he took a deep breath, seemed to be thinking about something very heavy while I caught his gaze that kept looking at the window near the dining room where there were only the two of us in this place.
