When the boys entered the church, it was empty. They looked around for a while, examining the structure that was lined in paintings of the whitewashed Christianity that Owen was so familiar with. Chandeliers hung from the tall ceiling, casting light through the room. Owen always admired the architecture of these cathedrals, even if he normally hated the meaning of them. While looking through the stone building, Owen has to remind himself that he doesn't hate Christianity itself, rather just the way that his parents used to practice it. The building has both of the boys on edge.
Ash continues to walk through the church, the pit in his stomach only growing larger and larger as he gets closer to the alter at the front font of the church. As Ash is only a few feet away from the source of the feeling, a older man steps out from a side room, surprised to see the shorter boy in the church. He closes the door behind him and moves across the room to greet him.
