44. Total darkness

I hadn't slept last night, in fact, I found it quite hard. Jorja was currently sprawled all over the bed, hogging the bed sheets. I wondered how she could sleep like a baby at a time like this.

I was envious of the amount of rest she received during such a time. It showed that this was not her first rodeo. But this was mine and I did not like it one bit.

Growing up, I dreamed of living a drama free life with my family but that was not what fate had in store for me. Constantly facing one challenge after another. I felt like in my whole lifetime, these months have been the most eventful and energy-sucking of all months.

Judging from the sun's rays beaming through the curtains, it seemed to be the morning.

All I did was stay awake as my mind overworked.

A small groan erupted from the person sprawled out next to me. I turned to find her eyes slightly open as she peered curiously at me.

"Morning," she murmured softly.

"Morning," I answered.
