Freeing your Buddy

I have seen a lot of weird stuffs in the previous world. In the internet, the social media and even in Japanese commercials. However, it is nothing compare to what I am seeing right now.

"Rudeus, why are you naked?" I asked while holding my laughter.

He turns around with a slightly bored expression in face. But when he saw me, his expression shifted and he was glad to see me.

"Ceobe! Thank goodness, please get me out of here!" he frantically said as he grabs the bars of the cage.

I was surprised by his enthusiasm that I can hear sir Gyes's grunt of frustration. Crap, I need to calm Rudeus down or things will get ugly.

"Shhh... Dude, can you pipe down a bit"

"Ah, I'm sorry"

Alright, now that I have calm him down, I can talk to him properly. That is, until I realized that I am talking to him with Japanese.

"[Also, Rudeus. Let's speak in Beast God from now on]"

"[Eh, since when did you learn that?]"

I told Rudeus about the surge of memories that I acquired recently, which includes my name, background and language. Hearing this information, he nodded in understandingly.

"[Now that I told my part. How about you tell me what happened to you]"

"[It's terrible. They stripped my clothes, poured cold water on me and fed me with weird foods for several days]"

Yikes, that's quite harsh. I kind of felt bad for what he went through. But then again, he did some dirty stuffs to the Holy Beast, so he kind of deserved it.

"[Well, you have learned your lesson, right? Caressing the Holy Beast is a big no-no]"

"[But Ceobe, the beast jumped on me, so I petted it]"

"[Rudeus, there is a fine line between caressing and petting. So, please control yourself next time]"

"[Erm.... Okay, I get it. Can you let me out now]"

I nodded to his request and turn my attention to sir Gyes. I walk towards him and look at him in the eye.

"[Sir Gyes, can you please release the human]"

"[Huh? Why would I do that? He violated the Holy beast]"

"[No, sir Gyes. It is all a misunderstanding. Also, he promises to control himself next time]"

After hearing my reasoning, Sir Gyes felt conflicted by the matter. He then peeks at Rudeus who looks quite pitiful inside the cage.

Sir Gyes then made a deep sigh and grabs the key from his waist. He unlocks the cage and frees Rudeus.

"[Yay~ I'm free~]" Rudeus cheerfully says as he steps out of the cage.

However, sir Gyes grabs his shoulder before he could run away.

"[Not so fast, human. This doesn't mean you can leave yet]"

"[Eh? Why not?]"

"[Well, we have some questions you need to answer first, Rudeus]"

"[Oh, I see]"

"[ Also, please wear some pants. It is quite embarrassing to see your... thing down there]" I said while averting my eyes and blushing badly.

"[Oops, my bad]"

After a while, Rudeus wore his clothes back and was currently at my house, eating food with me, sir Gyes and mother. Basically, I invited him and sir Gyes to eat with me, when mother called for lunch.

Right now, Rudeus is awkwardly eating because he was being glared by sir Gyes and mother.

"[So.... Who is this human you brought, Ceobe?]" mother asked while looking suspicious at Rudeus.

"[He is a friend, mama]"

"[I see....]"

Although mother seems to doubt my answer, we continued eating our food until we are full.

Once the lunch was over, we begin the interrogation with Rudeus.

"[So, Human, tell us where the rest of missing beast children were]"

Sir Gyes starts by questioning about the five beast girls that was led by the spearman named Ruijerd.

"[They were at the Zanto Port]"

"[Why did you take them there for?]"

"[I told them to stay put at the port while me and Ceobe went back at the dungeon to free the Holy Beast]"

I see now. Since we are freeing the Holy Beast, Rudeus ordered the spearman to stay low.

But wait, something is wrong here....

"[Rudeus, tell me. How long have you been imprisoned in the cage?]"

"[Umm.... Let's see, I have been there for five days]"

"[Five days?!]"

Holy crap, I have been asleep for five days? Not that it matters anyways, but it also means that the beast children and the spearman were still waiting there for that long.

"[What's wrong, Ceobe?]" Sir Gyes asked in surprised by my scream. I look at the beast man and said...

"[Sir Gyes, the beast children were still waiting for Rudeus and you imprisoned him for five days]"

"[Guh!!]"

Upon hearing my revelation, sir Gyes was struck by an extreme guilt and looks like he regretted his action. He quickly looks at Rudeus and then he lies down on his back, showing his stomach to him.

"[I'm extremely sorry for what I have done! Please do whatever you like to me!]"

Rudeus was surprised by sudden display of prostration, so he tried to calm sir Gyes down and was drooping his shoulder in regrets.

"[Now that we all are in the same page. The only thing that is needed to be done is go there and meet with them]"

Rudeus and sir Gyes both nodded in agreement upon hearing my plan. Then they stand up and went to the exit of the house. I wanted to follow the two, but mother blocked my path.

"[Where do you think you're going, young lady?]" she asked with a serious expression, which made me anxious.

"[I want to join them in their travel]" I replied. However, she shakes her head in refusal.

"[No, you will stay here, Ceobe]"

I was upset by mother's denial of my request to join Rudeus and sir Gyes. I looked at her and asked...

"[But why? It's not that far of a travel, mama]"

"[It's dangerous out there. Especially, when you were kidnapped previously]"

"[I know that. But Rudeus and sir Gyes is going too, so it is fine, right?]"

"[My answer is still no. Can you even defend yourself?]"

"[I....]"

How can I defend myself? I mean I am a beast person, so I have sharp teeth to bite people. But don't know if it is enough to defeat an opponent.

"[It's alright, Ceobe. Leave it to me]"

I then heard Rudeus reassuring me, I look up and saw him brandishing a magic staff. I guess it is fine to leave it to him in retrieving the missing beast children.

On that evening, I have a dream.

In that dream, I am in the dark void again and the beast girl with mushroom on her head returns.

"[Wait, don't hurt me]" I said while blocking my face. I couldn't forget the time she shoved mushrooms to my mouth.

Fortunately, she doesn't do anything violent, or at least that is what I thought. The beast girl just stared at me for a long while before pointing at me and spoke.

"[Go talk to the demon in the cage]" she said, which confuses me.

"[What do you mean? Who is his demon you're talking about?]"

"[Monkey.... face....]" She then said something that is more confusing, and then she turns around and walks away.

"[Hey, wait a minute. I need to explain what you just said]" I yelled as I begin pursuing the beast girl. But then I was stopped by a field of fire, accompanied by people screaming in the background.

"[What the heck is going on?]" I asked myself.

Then suddenly multiple shadows appear from the flame and each of them begin charging in front of me.

"[Wait! Don't hurt me!]" I screamed as one of them swing their sword at me.

*GASP*

I immediately open my eyes and get up from the bed. Then I survey my surroundings for danger and was relieved that everything is fine.

"[Sweetie, are you alright?]"

A voice then calls for me, so I look at direction where it came from and saw mother with a worried expression.

"[I'm fine, mama. Don't worry about it]" I reassured her, but she still worried.

"[Are you sure? Do you feel something bad?]"

"[No, mama. I'm fine, really]"

"[Okay then, if you say so. But tell me if you have problems, okay?]"

I nodded at her words and she return to sleep in her bed. So, I went back to sleep as well and forget about the nightmare.

And so, on the next day, I watch the two people leave the entrance of the village in order to go to the Zanto Port.

'Sigh, I wanted to join them but I am just a defenseless beast girl' I sighed.

*Incoherent gibberish noises*

While lamenting over my weakness, I heard someone yelling on the distance.

It is mysterious person being detained by two beast men. It looks like they were escorting the person to the direction of the prison cage.

I decided to follow them and check on what is going on. Once I got there, the person was thrown in the cage.

I took a peek at the person's face and saw something absolutely funny.

It is a person with a monkey looking face.
