Mister Monkey Man

[Third POV, earlier]

"Let me go!" the mysterious man shouted.

The man has a face that looks like a monkey, wearing a furry vest and dark pants.

Currently, he is being detained by two beast men and they dragged him towards the prison area of the village.

Once they arrived at the cage, they threw the man inside quite harshly.

"Ouch! Hey, at least be gentle, will ya!" the man protested.

However, the beast men snarled and turn their backs away from him.

"Tch, animals... Huh, what are you looking at?" He asked as he saw Ceobe at the distant.

The young beast girl is curiously observing him, especially his face. Then she snickers a little, probably because his face looks like a monkey.

"Oi, what are you laughing at, little girl? Now scram! Shoo! shoo!" the monkey man tried to drive Ceobe away, but she tilted her head in confusion, not understanding what he just said.

She then made a thinking pose and ponders for a while. Then she had an idea and walks away to go somewhere.

"Oh? I think she understood what I said" He thought. However, he was mistaken.

After several minutes later, Ceobe came back with a basket of several fruits on her hand.

"I take it back. She doesn't understand what I said"

Ceobe then talks to the beast woman guarding the draw bridge and ask her to lower it. The beast woman was conflicted and wanted to deny Ceobe's request, but she eventually gave in and ends up complying.

As requested, the beast woman lowers the bridge and Ceobe walks towards the cage where the monkey man was imprisoned. Eventually, she reaches the cage and then picks a fruit from the basket.

'What is she going to do with those fruits? Wait, don't tell me....'

As he expected, Ceobe gives the man a banana looking fruit.

[Ceobe POV]

I have no idea what the monkey man told me and end up giving him a fruit that looks like a banana as a joke.

He looks at the fruit and me alternatively while making a confused face. I know, I'm sorry for doing this mister monkey man, but this is hilarious.

Fortunately, he accepted the banana and he begins eating it. I'm glad he is not mad about the fruit, that's a relief.

*Unknown language gibberish*

Oddly enough, he doesn't speak with Beast God language, even though he looks like a beast person. Perhaps there is a monkey clan that uses other language instead. I guess it is possible but I have to try talking to him in order to verify.

"[Can you understand me, mister monkey man?]" I asked. Then I wait if he can respond to my question, which he did but he is not quite happy.

"[Of course, I can! Also, who are you calling monkey?!]" the man angrily said, denying that he is a monkey,

"[Ah, I'm sorry. Please don't be angry, mister. It is just a joke]"

"[Don't judge someone by their looks or else they will hate you]"

"[I get it. It won't happen again]"

I was so flustered that the man lectured me about not judging someone by their cover. He then nodded in satisfaction and picks up another fruit from the basket.

"[What's your name, little missy]" the man asked while eating the fruit.

'[My name is Ceobe Adoldia. What's yours, mister?]"

"[Me? My name is Geese]"

"[Nice to meet you, mister Geese~]" I happily said and Geese nodded in understanding.

After we introduced ourselves, me and mister Geese chatted for a while.

I first inquire if he is a beast person, which he denies and told me that he is a demon. It was surprising, and asked him to talk more about himself. He complies and begin telling stories.

One of the stories he told me was about him being a member of an adventure party called the Fang of the Black Wolf, which sounds so cool.

He even said that my appearance reminds him of his party member who was also a beast person. I asked for the name and he said that the beast person was Ghislaine Dedoldia, which sounds oddly familiar.

The other stories were about their long and exciting adventures. However, the party was separated when one of their party members became pregnant. After the party disbanded, he ventures the continents on his own and ultimately, he became broke in the end.

"[That's quite a sad story, mister Geese]"

"[Yeah.... But it's alright, I can still handle it. But take it just a jinx]"

"[A jinx?]"

"[Yup, you will never expect if your life will go downhill someday]"

"[I see.... Well, nice talking with you, mister Geese. I need to go home]"

"[It's good chatting with you, little missy]"

After mister Geese and I said our goodbyes, I walk away from the cage and then I head towards my house where I saw Ceobe's mother sitting on the floor with a bunch of food in front of her.

"[I'm home, mama]"

"[Ah, welcome home, sweetie. Come, I prepared food for you]"

"[Wow~ Thank you, mama]"

I thanked mother as I went towards her. I then took a seat and pick up a skewered meat to eat.

"[So, how is your day, Ceobe]" mother asked, wanting to know what I did today.

"[Well, I talked to a monkey demon in the prison cage today]"

"[What's with you and talking with prisoners, sweetie?]" she worriedly asked.

I told mother about mister Geese being a nice and misunderstood person, and inform her of all his stories. However, after I told everything, mother frowns and she placed her hand on my shoulder.

"[Ceobe, you shouldn't trust people who acts nice to you]"

"[Eh? But why, mama? Is there something wrong with nice people?]"

"[There nothing wrong with them. However, there were bad people act nice in order to trick other people]"

I guess she is right. I met a lot of two face people in the previous world. Not to mention some of them were difficult to ascertain and I end up being backstabbed.

Now that I mentioned it, does this mean my transition to world was due to someone killing in my home while I was asleep?

It is a huge possibility since I saw a lot of people in the anime convention was jealous of my victory for best cosplay.

[Third POV]

While Ceobe is contemplating about what her mother told her, a sudden event is about to occur.

"[Kyaaaaaaaa!!]"

""!!""

A loud shriek can be heard coming from outside of their home, alerting both Ceobe and her mother. After that, they also smell something foul that is slowly spreading in the air. It was the smell of smoke and fire.

"[Mama, what is going on?]" Ceobe anxiously ask her mother.

"[I don't know, sweetie. But we need to get out of here]" The mother prompted. Ceobe complied and she followed her mother to the entrance of their home.

When both of them exit their house, they were utterly shock to see the village being burnt to the ground. Also, there were a bunch of human bandits everywhere, all of which were killing the beast people and capturing the beast children.

Ceobe was petrified by the absolute horrors being shown to her. But then she whispers...

"[This is horrible...]"
