James was quick to move once again, pushing past the acolytes standing at the bottom of the stairs. Hee yelled as he tackled one of the men grabbing Edwin down, punching him directly in the face.
“I said let him go!”
Edwin gasped softly when he watched James fight for him, and he struggled against the other men holding him down. “James, you came back for me,” he couldn’t help but say as he kicked at another acolyte.
Stanley, however, growled and was quick to join the fight. “You have proven to be more trouble than you’re worth, James,” he said as he grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him off of the unconscious acolyte, tossing him back.
James yelped and growled again. “I should have done this years ago!” he shouted back before pulling his dagger out once again.
Yet, the second he went to move, he was tackled down by an acolyte who tried to restrain him while punching him repeatedly in the face.
