The next day James and Edwin woke up a couple hours before the sunrise, sitting in the parlor the two of them were enjoying breakfast when Lily cleared her throat behind the both of them. 


“Come on you two, you know the rules. It’s bad luck for you two to see each other before the ceremony,” she said with a smile as she crossed her arms at the both of them. 


Edwin couldn’t help but whine as he grabbed James’s arm and hugged it to his chest. “That’s such a silly rule. I want to get ready with James.”


Leaning in, James gave Edwin a sweet kiss on the forehead and chuckled lightly. “I know it’s a stupid rule, my dear, but I don’t want us to have any more bad luck. Especially today.” 


Edwin just whimpered again and put his face in the crook of his neck. “Alright…” 


James smiled and kissed the top of his head. “I promise time will go fast. Just be patient.” 


“Fine, I’ll be patient,” Edwin said before pulling away and gently kissing James’s neck. “I’ll see you at the ceremony.”
