Perfect for each other

We thought it'd be best to get some udon on our way back, but the one who was most excited, Miyuki, fell asleep as soon as Yoshito began driving. I can't blame her, today was pretty eventful, she must have used up all of her energy.

Also, Yoshito ended up feeling exhausted after a while of driving so we stopped at a nearby gas station and I'm now stuck doing it again. Eri wanted to but I insisted on letting her rest since she looked tired.

"Since Miyuki's asleep, we probably don't need to get udon anymore." Yoshito shared his opinion from the back seat.

Eri still appears to be a bit ashamed of not being able to cross the bridge, as she hasn't spoken.

I notice Yoshito slowly falling asleep from the rear view mirror. Man this guy sure likes to sleep.

"Honestly, you impress me, Yasuhito." Eri suddenly spoke up, facing the passenger seat window.

"Huh? That was random." I nervously chuckled.

"The best way I could describe it is… you act older than us, a lot more mature in fact." She then turned to me.

"Sorry, I don't mean to act like an elderly man."

Sure, I have the body of a twenty year old man again, but the mind of a thirty year old is still within me.

"And with Miyuki…" Eri stopped mid sentence.

As I keep on driving, I suddenly hear a beeping sound.

"Wait, did you hear that beeping?" I glanced at Eri quickly.

"Beeping? No, I didn't hear anything."

"Seriously?" I scratched my head, feeling confused.

"Are you trying to scare me?" Eri furrowed her eyebrows and began to laugh a little.

This is the second time this beeping sound popped up, and I'm the only one that could hear it. Maybe it's a time limit that I have been here in the past, but it's just a sound, there aren't any gadgets nearby. Miyuki and Yoshito may be the answer to that, I notice Miyuki from the rear view mirror, having her head stumped to the side with an expression I could only describe as, carefree. Yoshito's head is also slumped to the side, leaning on Miyuki.

There are two types of regrets, "Why did I do it?" Or, "Why didn't I do it?" No matter what choice someone made, there would be no way of avoiding the regret that would form later on.

The distance between Yoshito and Miyuki is beginning to shorten, this trip definitely helped with that, and my wish is slowly coming true.

It began to rain as the drive continued.

"You know, I'm glad we went on this trip, it was fun." I spoke up with a bit of enthusiasm.

"You're right, I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected, thank you for inviting me." Eri shared the same enthusiasm.

"You don't have to thank me, but I will thank you for coming along." We kept our voices down to avoid waking up the two in the back.

"I was also able to see another side of you that I didn't expect." Eri quietly giggled.

"Another side of me." I quickly glanced at Eri again.

"Well, knowing that you do have a fear makes you seem a lot more human."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Anyways, since we're on the subject of seeing different sides of one another, Eri…" I gave her a cheeky glance.

"Who? Me? I don't recall doing something out of character for me."

"Don't worry, I'll help you out with this one word, bridge."

"W-well, Yasuhito, I know for a fact you were pretty scared yourself!" She exclaimed with a flustered voice.

Now that I think about it, in all of the years that I've known her, it was very rare to see her acting like this, just as she was acting on our way to the trip and during the trip. Changes are being made.

"I mean, sure I was scared, but definitely not as much as you were." I chortled.

"Ah! Whatever, we were both scared, end of story, got it." She smacked my arm, trying to hide her embarrassment.

Our voices began to rise the more we continued to talk and soon made a ruckus, and when I looked at the rear view mirror to check up on the two in the back, I locked eyes with Miyuki.

"Ahhh." Miyuki tried her best to put up a fake yawn.

Eri's shoulders tensed up as soon as she heard that.

"I must've fallen asleep, sorry about that, where are we?"

"It seems that we're heading towards Kobe." Eri looked at the navigation in the car.

"Whaaat?" Miyuki responded in an unhappy manner.

"What about my udon?"

"It's your fault for falling asleep, Miyuki." Eri began to scold her.

"Don't tell me you guys ate without me…"

"Of course not." Eri and I replied at the same time, and laughed at how resentful she seemed.

"Also, you should be grateful! Yasuhito has been driving this entire time." Eri continued with the scolding.

"Thank you, Yasuhito, I bet you're tired, and why is Yoshito sleeping? I thought that he was driving back." Miyuki smacked him on the arm, but it did not wake him up.

"We won't be able to get some of your favorite udon, but there's a soba place close to our apartment with some good udon, we could go there and see if you'd like it." Eri turned to look at Miyuki.

"Let's do it!" Miyuki responded with excitement, going between the driver's and passenger seats.

"Clam down Miyuki! That isn't safe." Eri pushed her back.

"Whatever." Miyuki crossed her arms and pouted.

I really can't help but grin seeing their back and forth.

Yoshito let out a yawn, Miyuki's and Eri's ruckus must have awoken him.

"Woah, we've made it this far already?"

"Don't sound all surprised, Yasuhito has been driving this whole time, you should thank him!" Now it was Miyuki's turn to lecture someone.

"Thank you, Yasuhito." Yoshito seemed defeated.

"You could pay for dinner and we'll be even." I turned to the rear view mirror to look at the back.

"I'm only paying for yours."

"No fair! You should pay for everybody's." Miyuki let out a huff.

"Alright alright fine, only because you said so."

"Now that's much better."

We then made it to the destination, ordering some udon, with Miyuki and Yoshiot sitting next to each other talking about the trip and all of the fun they had, while grinning at each other affectionately. Maybe she's slowly beginning to fall for him, don't worry Miyuki, I've come from the future to support you with everything I have.

"Hey, why aren't you eating, your food is gonna end up getting cold." Eri tugged at my sleeve.

"Crap, you're right, thank you."

"These two really do get along, don't they?" Eri whispered to me.

"They do." I whispered back.

They're perfect for each other.
