Do you love the rain?

It's been raining these past few days surprisingly, I luckily have my umbrella and am currently going to college.

Wait, I see a person with a bright yellow umbrella up ahead, it's most definitely Miyuki. She has always used that umbrella, even during our married life, it was obvious that it's her favorite.

"Woah!" Miyuki slipped, and is on the verge of falling.

"Miyuki!" I threw my umbrella to the side and went after her.

Oh thank goodness she didn't end up falling and caught herself on time.

"Woahhh!" I slipped and ended up falling.

"Yasuhito?!" Miyuki quickly turns around at the sound of something hitting the floor.

"H-hey Miyuki." I groaned as I tried to get back up.

"Wait! Your leg, it's injured."

"I'm fine, it's nothing really… ouch!"

"Don't try to stand up!" Miyuki put her hand on my shoulders as I sat on the ground.

I must've seemed like an idiot trying to get up.

"We have to get that treated." Miyuki begins to inspect my right leg.

"I'm fine, it's really not that bad, I could just walk it off."

I try to put up a brave face and hide the pain that I'm feeling.

"Nope, you have a cut on your knee and we can't risk you getting an infection, so we'll have to treat it." Miyuki offers her hand to me.

"Fine…" I give in.

Miyuki's the type of person to hardly get angry, but on rare occasions where she does, she's frightening.

We make it to her apartment, and I'm feeling nervous, a lot more nervous than getting my wound treated.

"I'm sorry, Eri isn't here right now, hehe." Miyuki giggled.

"Oh… okay.." I laughed, only because Miyuki seemed to be enjoying herself.

Her and Eri's apartment was a two bedroom apartment, with Eri's room in the front and Miyuki's in the back.

When we made it to her room, I spotted something on the floor.

"Uhhh…"

It's her underwear.

"Yasuhito? What are you stari-."

"Uhhh, wait! Act like you didn't see anything!" Miyuki quickly grabbed it and threw it into her drawer.

Her alarm clock is on the floor as well, she must have been in a hurry.

"Yasuhito, can you please wait in the living room for a bit?" She quickly shooed me out of her room and shut the door.

"If only Eri had woken me up on time, this wouldn't have happened!" I could hear her speaking to herself.

Miyuki has always been terrible at waking up on time, I would always have to be responsible in making sure she got up on time, and she would often go back to sleep as soon as I left the room. Eri must've been the one with that responsibility during our college days.

The door to her room opens.

"I'm sorry that happened, you can come in now!" Miyuki yelled out.

When I make it to her room, she still appears to be flustered, I don't blame her.

"…."

"…."

Pure silence.

"Right! I need to fix up that cut on your knee. I'll go grab the medkit." Miyuki hurriedly left the room and came back quickly.

"That won't work, you'll have to take off your pants."

"Huh?!"

"You'll have to shower first, you're all soaked and I don't want you to get sick." Miyuki expressed concern.

"Wait, is that really okay? What if Eri gets mad?" I begin to tremble at the thought of that.

"It's fine, she won't know, and can you leave your wet clothes outside of the shower? That way I can put them in the dryer while you're busy."

"Okay.."

Looks like I don't have much of a choice.

Once I finish showering, I hear a knock on the door.

"Your clothes are by the door, Yasuhito!" Miyuki yelled out from the other side.

"Okay! Thank you!"

I quickly open the door and grab my clothes.

Having my underwear taken away feels pretty embarrassing.

I get out of the shower and head towards Miyuki's room to get my cut treated.

"I'm sorry you have to do all of this for me." I apologize to her as I'm sitting on her bed.

"It's okay, I'm guessing you saw that I slipped and ran after me, let me repay you." Miyuki is very focused on the wound.

"Pfft… hahaha." Miyuki suddenly laughed out loud.

"…" I looked at her with confusion.

"I'm sorry, I know it was unexpected to see my underwear on the floor, especially when it's your first time being here." Miyuki wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Right… hahaha." I begin to laugh along.

We spend the next minute or so laughing.

"Okay, looks like I'm done here." Miyuki let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you, I really appreciate you doing this." I got up from her bed.

"It's no problem really.. ah! Were you heading to your classes as well?"

"Yeah, only a couple minutes until they start, looks like I'm going to be late." I looked at my watch, which displayed 12:15 P.M.

"I have classes today as well, but they don't start until 2:30, wanna head towards the school together?" She expressed her usual enthusiasm.

"Sure, that'd be nice." We begin to exit her apartment.

We're both now walking through the rain, with our umbrellas in hand.

"Miyuki, are you a fan of the rain?" I asked, looking for a conversation.

"Of course I do! What about you? Do you like it?"

"I've never really thought about it much before, I don't dislike it, but I do prefer to stay inside when it's raining."

"Really?? I feel like that's a waste." She let out a sigh of disappointment and went on to explain the great things about it.

"The beauty in the rain is pretty special, it can change the appearance of the environment, the colors of certain objects, stones for example, they seem deeper and more vibrant when they're wet. Plus, we can't forget about the rainbows that appear afterwards!"

"…." I looked at her in awe.

I remember she would often check the weather forecast to make a note of when it's going to rain, to pick out which umbrella she can use, even though she'd always go with the bright yellow one.

She always taught me of all delights and positive discoveries that I have never noticed before. Simply being with her made everything plain and simple appear amazing, colorful, peaceful, and bright, she made everything unique to me, but I wasn't the one that should've been gifted with that.

I really have to keep my distance from her, and no matter what, nothing will affect the amazing memories that I have with her.

I begin to tear up a little having these thoughts and Miyuki notices.

"Are you okay?!" She stopped in front of me.

"Huh? Oh, yeah I'm fine, this cut just hurts a little more than I expected." I wiped my eyes.

"Well, take it slow okay? We're already at the school."

"You're right, but I'll have to head to my class, you should hang out at the cafeteria, maybe Yoshito will be there." I begin to walk the opposite direction.

"Okay, have fun!" Miyuki waved at me.

"Thank you again, for fixing up my wound!" I waved back.

I love the rain.
