DETECTIVE HOT STUFF

They both turned to see Antonio standing behind them, staring with squinted eyes.

"Nothing. We were just discussing a movie we've both seen." Red thinking quick, said.

Mariano inhaled, relieved at how fast Red was able to come up with a suitable explanation, but at the same time, shocked at how good she was at lying. However, he chucked it aside. After all, she was a writer. Wasn't being good at lying one of the prerequisite of being one?

Antonio's suspicious gaze did not lower immediately. He stared at the both of them unblinking for a few seconds, before he finally relaxed.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Oh I'm totally fine. Although I would like a good pancake, or maybe waffles, but Edith said to wait for a few more minutes. Thanks for asking though. You're such a sweetheart." Mariano beamed.

Antonio's frown returned, as he glared at his cousin. "I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to her." He pointed to Red.

"Me?" She said.

"Oh." His face fell.
