Mikey's Demon

After a while the others ran back to Jayce since they couldn't hear anything going on, only to find Jayce looking so restless and worried.

''haa… what's wrong, why do you look like that?'' Sally asked as she held her knees and tried to catch her breath

''Let me out, we have to find Mikey!'' he said in a panic

At this time, Gwen and the others got there and heard what he said

''Why? What happened?'' Cal' asked while scattering the ash with his foot

''He's going after him, the Alpha''

''Who's the Alpha?''

''The werewolf, he called himself that, we have to go now''

…

''Mikey! Where are you?''

''Mikey!''

''Hello, Mikey…''

They all kept calling out but getting no reply, they've been out for about 10 minutes, still no reply

''Mikey, please be okay, please'' Cal' kept muttering under hos breath as they searched for Mikey

''Mikey!''

''Stop!'' Jayce suddenly said and started sniffing the air, this action didn't go unnoticed by them as they were all staring at him

''I smell blood, but it's not Mikey's''

''Then whose is it and where?'' Cal' asked as he was on the verge of losing his patience

''I don't know and over there'' he pointed to the east of them and they all rushed there only to find a dead body with ice spikes the size of a finger poking out of his body

''Oh God'' Sally said and turned away before looking at it again, the others also showed signs disgust except Cal' and Jayce

''Did Mikey do this?'' Sally asked

''He did but, I can tell it was by accident'' Cal' said

''Maybe he was scared and lost control for a bit?'' Gwen said

''No, the Mikey I know wouldn't do that. If he was scared, he would go for a one shot kill… this is something else'' Cal' explained

''… Maybe he lost control because everything was too loud'' Tyler said picking up a pair of headsets from the ground and showing it to them

''Oh God no, no, we have to go that way then we might find him'' Cal' said with a terrified look on his face

''Cal'… there is no way… it's a cliff'' Tyler said

''No, we have to get down there, fast'' Cal' said and turned around to go down the cliff

''Cal' we can't, we have to call 911''

''I can't leave him there; I have to go!'' Cal' said and kept walking. Tyler ran up to him, held his shoulders and turned him around to face himself

''Cal', call 911''

''But, I have to go''

''Calister! you're not in your right mind now, leave this to the police or better still Mikey's dad. If anyone would find him, it's his dad, you have to call him'' Tyler said directly to his face which calmed him down

''Right, you are right'' Cal' said taking out his phone

5 minutes later, the Sheriff and his team arrived and immediately got to work

''I want this place searched in and out, leave no stone unturned understand!'' Sheriff Jacob yelled, getting his men to work before walking up to the kids, looking around to make sure nobody was watching, he asked ''What in the world were you guys thinking? Why would you be in the woods today?''

They looked at each other and Cal' answered him ''There were werewolves… and Jayce was turned so we came out to the woods, in case he lost control due to the full moon…''

''Then other werewolves showed up and we ran and got separated…'' Sally said

''When we got back… Jayce said we had to find Mikey because the Alpha was going after him…'' Gwen continued

''Wait, who's the Alpha?'' Jacob asked

''The leader of the werewolves…'' Tyler replied

''and also the one that bit me…'' Jayce answered

''Are you telling me, that there is a werewolf after my son?''

''No, not anymore''

''What do you mean?''

''Come with us, we want to show you something'' Cal' said and started walking up the cliff and the Sheriff followed behind him. After a while, they got to the spot and showed him the body

''God that's brutal, but, doesn't look like Mikey's work''

''It was; he couldn't concentrate with all the noise'' Cal' said handing over the headset

''… we have to find him before it's too late'' Jacob said taking the headset and walking down the cliff, the moment he got there, a sergeant ran up to him, '' Sir, we found something''

They all followed the sergeant to a river underneath the cliff, they were the only one's there… well apart from the man sitting by the side of the river

''Who's that?''

''Refused to say, but he keeps repeating one word… Demon'' the sergeant said

''What's wrong with his arm?''

''I found him with half his arm frozen, it looked like frostbite but, we're not in winter right now… so how?''

''Sergeant Fred'' Jacob called out

''Yes sir!'' the sergeant answered standing at attention

''What I'm about to say is to be kept a secret forever… till your death, understood?''

''Yes sir…'' Fred replied looking confused

''This ice… find anymore trace of this and follow it, it'll lead us to my son''

''How?''

''… Because he's the one doing this'' Jacob said and walked towards the man. He crouched down to the man's level and asked in a gentle voice, ''Hey, what did you see?''

The man looked him in the eye before lowering his head, ''It was a boy, a little boy… he reminded me of my son… he looked like he was in pain, so I wanted to help. I walked up to him and asked what was wrong? He didn't reply. I wanted to assure him that it was okay, so I reached out and held his hand… it was cold, like ice… before I knew it my hand was freezing, I tried to let go, but he wouldn't let go, that's when I saw it…''

''Saw what?'' Jacob asked

''… His eyes, he wasn't in pain anymore, he was just staring at me with… with those demonic eyes of his''

''Why do you say demonic eyes?''

The man looked up directly into Jacob's eyes and said ''Have ever seen a kid with glowing white eyes before?'' he said and looked down ''After that, he ran away''

''Which way? Which way did he go?''

The man raised his hand and pointed to the other direction from himself ''I have to warn you, he's dangerous… be careful''

''Thank you'' Jacob said and right before he got up, he picked up a pair of gloves with traces of ice on them ''We better get going'' he said and started walking in that direction.

They walked for about 10 minutes before stopping ''Do you hear that?'' Jayce asked

''Hear what?''

''shh…'' Jayce made a shushing sound before walking slowly to some bushes, the closer they got, the more the others could hear what Jayce heard. They walked closer and found Mikey sitting head to his knees with his hands over his ears, rocking back and forth muttering something in a low voice but, loud enough for them to hear

''Shut up, shut up, stop talking shut up…'' he kept repeating over and over again

''Mikey…'' Jacob said in a soft voice, crouching down in front of him ''Mikey… it's okay, it's okay''

Hearing the voice, Mikey opened his eyes, which were glowing and looked up, the moment his eyes met with Jacob's, he threw his hands yelled while moving back ''Stay away!'' then an ice spike the size of a pen materialized and shot towards Jacob, luckily Jayce was fast enough to catch it before it pierced through his head. Mikey got up in a hurry ''I'm sorry'' he said, turned around and ran

''Mikey wait!'' Cal' yelled and chased after him

''Cal' wait!'' Sally said and went after him and the others including Jacob and the sergeant followed.
