First Vape (?)

Alec is on the way back from work at SCBD and got a call from his girlfriend. He sighed as he didn't want to talk to her. He's been busy with work and making vape. He doesn't want to make the same stupid mistake if he could've prevented it. He couldn't be with her anymore but he doesn't know how to break up with her as she hasn't made a mistake. But he realized that it was bound to happen again if he didn't break up with her.

Just this morning he got a call from the gold shop that the ring he custom-ordered has already finished and he already paid for it. He's thinking of reselling it. But not now, probably in a few years since the gold price will go up to almost Rp 500.000/gram. He let the phone ring till it stopped and it rang again and again. He just put his phone on silent and turned it off. And he drove to his friend's place as he already promised to meet them at their place in Serpong which is quite far from his office.

He's been avoiding her for days, almost two weeks already. He doesn't reply to her text, doesn't bother to answer her call, hoping that she could read the room. But he saw her at his friend's place. And his friend, being a good or asshole friend, gave them his living room to talk.

"What's wrong with you?" She asked. "Why didn't you answer my call or text me back?"

He sighed. "Busy," he sat down and lit up a cigarette.

"Did you have another woman?" she asked again, started to raise her voice.

"No," he puffed on his cigarette. "Just busy."

"Heard you went out till almost 5am and went straight to work, did you meet another woman?" her voice went up again.

"No," he sighed frustratingly. "I'm just busy and have a lot on my mind."

"Why?" she asked. "How could you come here and yet you didn't even answer my call or text me back?" She started to shout.

He sighed. "Why can't I come here?"

"I heard you bought a ring, is it for her?"

He just shut up on that.

"Let's break up, I can't be with you anymore," she slapped his face.

"Ok," he sighed and noticed that his friend was peeping and eavesdropping and they went to the kitchen as she left.

"You ok?" Adrian asked as he gave Alec a wet towel.

"Do I look like I'm okay?" Alec asked him back.

"No, you look like a junkie nowadays," Sarah, Adrian's sister, said. "Are you ok with letting her go just like that?"

"Yes, it actually felt so refreshing," he sighed, "let's continue making the vaporizer."

"Hey, I look up online and saw a story about a guy who suddenly act different like you," Sarah said.

"Uh... do I act like a different person?" Alec asked.

"No, you're still an asshole," Adrian replied. "How's it?"

"How's what?"

"The spark plug?"

"Smaller and the coiling wire, needs to be careful with that," Alec explained.

"Honestly, are you okay with breaking up with her?" Sarah asked again. "She's so perfect, so pretty and even I liked her. I wanted her to be my sister in-law."

"Then you take her," Alec told Adrian. "Maybe she's perfect for you."

Adrian looks at him as if he's seeing a ghost and continues to make the vaporizer. Both of them realized who called his girlfriend to this place. Who told her about the ring and who's suspicious about him having another girl. But they don't need to talk about it.

Alec knows he's quite badass, he has to admit that he's quite a good looking guy in his prime and he remembers he can still date a girl on his 47 with his hair thinning. But he can't see Sarah as a woman even though she's attractive and close to his type. Maybe because he has known her since she's a five years old toddler. He knew that Sarah probably has feelings for him ever since she's in middle school. But he doesn't want to break his friendship with Adrian.

And Adrian knew about his sister's feelings for his best friend. But he knew that Alec wasn't suitable for his baby sister. She's pretty, sexy, tall, attractive but she's too immature for him and he needed someone mature enough who could ground him.

While they're working on the vaporizer, they make a breakthrough and finally make the prototype. It looks so cool but uncool since they're using a small glass bottle from Vitamin C as the base. And they made the liquid using nicotine and mint flavor.

"Damn, we made it," Adrian jumped up and down.

"Yes, we did," Alec smiled.

"For now we should make a hundred pieces of it first," Adrian smiled.

"Sure, market it on Kaskus," Alec grinned.
