chapter 13: Inn

Hi guys I just wanted to say I'm so grateful to you all for reading Succubus Mina. I decided to take this story seriously and actually put some effort into writing it. "All the clothes look good on you," Mina's eyes gleamed with delight as she observed Reoul adorned in his new garments. Clad in a sable shirt and trousers, he emanated a sense of elegance and refinement that enthralled her.

"Every fabric seems to drape your figure perfectly," Mina mused with a smirk as she caught a glimpse of his sculpted chest. The sight of his bulging muscles stirred her heart, and a smile tugged at her lips.

"I'll buy these ten clothes!" Mina announced with excitement as she marched over to the cashier with the clothes in tow.

She was practically bouncing with glee, eager to add these new pieces to Reoul's wardrobe. As she handed them over to the cashier, she couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.

"Thanks so much!" she said, beaming at the cashier. "I can't wait for Reould all these on and show them off!"

"Looking sharp, looking good," Mina praised as she gave Reould a playful pat on the back, but Kai's face fell.

Despite spending a short time with Reoul he never once spoke a word which made Mina worry a bit.

Kai's frown deepened as he watched her lavish praise upon the slave, a strange sensation gnawing at him from within. He stepped closer to her, his touch gentle as he took her hand in his own. Mina's heart raced as she beheld the hurt etched on his face, her own emotions roiling in a tempest of confusion.

"Umm, Kai I'm sorry for neglecting you," Mina murmured, the words heavy with regret and sorrow.

But Kai surprised her with his response, a blush creeping up his cheeks as he gazed at her with newfound affection. "There's no need to apologize, you were just buying the slave some new clothes. Plus, I kinda like holding your hand like this," he admitted, causing Mina to blush in turn.

The two of them exchanged awkward glances, their eyes locked in a silent exchange leaving Reoul with a blank expression as he watched them flirt with each other. The onlookers could feel the ache in their hearts as they witnessed the scene unfold, watching the two beautiful people flirt and tease each other.

"Yo, check it out, an inn!" Mina Mina breathed a sigh of relief as she gazed upon the looming structure before them. She pointed to the huge building ahead with excitement as she read the inn sign board [ Gerian Inn ] in bold letters.

Without hesitation, Mina dragged inside and Kai reluctantly beckoned for Reoul to follow them, his eyes darting warily around the brightly-lit lobby.

"Hey there, can we get two rooms, please?" Mina asked the receptionist in her sweetest voice.

The receptionist's face turned red, clearly taken aback by Mina's sudden appearance. "Uh, how– many rooms would you like?" she stammered.

"Two," Kai answered with a hint of authority. "One for myself and Mina, and another for Reoul."

Mina cut in with a determined voice, "I shall take a room to myself, and the two men shall share a room." As she spoke, she noticed Kai's face drop into a dejected expression.

"But Mina," he whined, and she could see the hurt in his eyes but she shook her head firmly.

"I'm a girl, I need my space and privacy sometimes," she replied firmly, her tone brooking no argument. Despite this, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt at the sight of his despondent face, and Kai's expression fell.

'He's like a sad little puppy. I feel guilty, but I need to check something,' Mina thought to herself.

"What types of rooms do you have?" Mina inquired at the receptionist.

Kai protested, pointing a finger at Reoul. "I refuse to share a room with him," he declared.

Mina's gaze flicked over to Kai, her eyes narrowing slightly as she admonished him. "You must be mindful of finances, so you have to. We can't spend money recklessly," Mina scolded him.

"But I'm rich," Kai stated innocently and Mina's heart ached as his words cut through her heart like a blade. She had hoped that he would understand her kind gesture, but he seemed oblivious to the weight of her words. "I said I'll pay!" Mina exclaimed, her voice firm and determined. "So then, please, lady receptionist, how much are the rooms, and what type do you have?" She asked.

"We have a low-class option, which is ten copper coins per day, a middle-class option, which is ten silver coins per day, and a high-class option, which is fifty silver coins per day," the receptionist responded.

Mina gasped at the exorbitant prices. "Wow, so expensive!" she exclaimed, her mind racing. "Kai, which one do you want?" she asked him.

"I'd like the high-class room," Kai muttered, his voice betraying his entitled upbringing and Mina froze.

'Well he is from a rich family.' she clenched her chest and cried inwardly, 'But I've made my mind to pay for him so there's no going back now.'

"Well same for me then," Mina said.

"Payment," the receptionist asked with a polite smile as she stretched out her hand.

Mina's heart sank as the receptionist stretched out her hand for payment. The weight of the gold coin in her hand felt heavy as she handed it over, and paid the receptionist the coin, flashing a friendly smile. "That's for two rooms," she said, reminding the receptionist that 100 silver coins equaled one gold coin. The receptionist blushed at Mina's beauty and charm.

"Of course, beautiful young lady," the receptionist smiled back a blush still on her face.

Kai nervously interjected, "Hey Mina, I can cover the room expenses."

Mina responded with a thumbs up, "Nah, I got this. You've been a great help, ever since the first time we met. At the forest."

'But this isn't the first time we met. Have you truly forgotten?' Kai thought with a saddened expression. 'But I guess this is better, your eyes don't look dead anymore,' his lips curled a bit.

"Then Mina I'm sharing a room with you,"

"Why though?" Mina asked with a hint of suspicion.

"Look at those guys they've been staring at you," Kai whispered into her ear, "Just look at those guys staring at you." Mina turned to notice a group of men and women leering at her.

Mina shot them a menacing glare, causing them to quickly turn their heads away.

"Don't worry about me," Mina reassured Kai. "I can handle myself, and besides, I'm sure the high-class rooms have proper security measures in place, right, ma'am?" Mina asked the receptionist, who nodded in agreement.

The receptionist nodded her head, "Indeed they do, dear. Our guests' safety is of utmost importance to us. So no one would intrude your room at night," the receptionist replied and Mina nodded approvingly.

"That's good," Mina beamed.

"Here's your room key," the receptionist handed Mina two silver keys with the words { Room number 47, Room number 48 } on the metal holder it was attached to.

As Mina was handed the room keys, she couldn't help but beam with excitement. "A room to myself!" she squealed, but noticed Kai's sour expression.

"What's wrong?" Mina asked with a puzzled look.

"I don't like leaving you alone," Kai replied, his face still creased with worry.

"I'll be fine," Mina assured him, patting him on the shoulder. "I've got my own room with a key, and we're in a secure establishment. Plus, I promise to scream really loud if anything goes wrong," she joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Kai chuckled a bit at Mina's joke, but he still seemed uneasy. "Alright, but promise me you'll be careful," he said, as they walked up the stairs to their rooms.
