Alex no demon episode 22

Levi sat silently atop a tall tower, the wind brushing against his green jacket and brown hair as he gazed over the city skyline. His moment of solitude was interrupted when he noticed a glowing magic circle hovering through the sky—Tomoa was on patrol.

"Tomoa!" Levi called out, his voice echoing lightly.

Tomoa stopped mid-flight, turning to spot Levi on the tower. He flew down and landed beside him, settling into a relaxed sitting position.

"You alright?" Tomoa asked, glancing at him with concern. "Heard you fought one of the Dark Sign members the other day."

Levi sighed and leaned back. "Yeah... Just got out of the hospital this morning. Figured I'd catch a view before heading home."

"I was just on patrol duty," Tomoa said, stretching his arms. "Been on it all week since Kojin's not around."

Levi turned his head. "Where'd Kojin go?"

"No idea," Tomoa replied. "He didn't tell anyone—just said he'd be gone for a few weeks. Only the team leaders and a few assassins even know he's missing."

Levi let out a soft chuckle. "Then we better make sure the city's safe in case something gets out of hand."

Tomoa nodded, his eyes narrowing at the horizon. "Well even tho kojin's gone, the citizens are all trained as well. Most of the citizens of this city from age 12 to 39 are trained soldiers. Some who aren't full time soldiers just go about their day. Even the people who are retired soliders dont slack off. So even if something where to happen, we'd be okay to an extent "

Meanwhile, Diablo strolled alone down a quiet street, his eyes casually scanning the sky above. After a few turns, he reached a small house and stepped inside.

"Deo!" he yelled out.

No response.

With a shrug, he made his way to the basement, where a hidden lab buzzed with machinery and electrical hums. Inside, Sughi—Deo's older brother and a team leader—was hard at work at a large console.

Diablo grinned mischievously and crept behind him. "Boo."

Sughi , a guy in his early 20's with grey hair and a lab-coat flinched, almost dropping his tools. "Damn it, Diablo! Don't do that!"

Laughing, Diablo raised his hands. "Relax! You didn't have to get that scared."

He peered over Sughi's shoulder. "What's that? Looks like a metal turtle had a baby with a toaster."

"It's a detection device," Sughi replied, unfazed now. "It's built to sense incoming enemy attacks and activate barrier defenses around the city. It can also analyze foreign energy signatures."

Diablo scratched his head. "You lost me halfway through that, but sounds useful. Although, defenses are easily broken nowadays you know."

Sughi sighed "Please dont blow my excitement now"

Taking a seat nearby, Diablo casually added, "There's gonna be a battle for domain between this city and the City of Raijin. Surprisingly enough, kojin picked up the kids we are incharge of. Talking about them being one of the most skilled young assassins in our city or something. Well it doesn't matter. It just goes to show how well we're teaching them and how well they're training."

"I figured," Sughi said. "Deo mentioned it this morning. He seemed... unusually excited."

Diablo snorted. "He's always pumped for a challenge, but atleast he's not as cocky as his elded brother was when he was just a teen." Sughi replied while fixing another device "Oh shut it." "But honestly, I think my team's ready. We've got experience so far." Diablo stated.

Sughi nodded. "It's not a death match, so you'll all be fine. I trust my team too. Especially with Mori around."

"Pfft," Diablo smirked. "You mean your squad with that loser girl Runo, your crazy little brother, and that drunk brat Mori?"

Sughi gave him a sharp look. "Shut up, Diablo. Its better than your team field with a blue haired sparky wannabe girl, a white haired idiot, and an edgy purple haired kid who probably has daddy issues.", diablo replied with playfully annoyance.

Diablo stood up with a smug grin. "Alright, alright. No need to get defensive." "I'm the one who's supposed to be saying that to you." Sughi exclaimed.

He glanced around. "Got anything to drink?" Diablo asked.

Sughi pointed to the fridge. "Help yourself. Take as much as you want."

Moments later, Diablo walked out of the house, a bag of drinks slung over his shoulder. He grinned to himself. "This battle of domains... it's gonna be deadly.". Sughi seeing diablo with a bag of his drinks said to him "Hey, I said take as much as you want l, not the whole damn fridge."

Deep in a forest, Kazuki was training at full intensity. Daggers shot at him from all angles, but he weaved through them with speed and precision, deflecting what he couldn't dodge. Suddenly, chains burst from the ground to ensnare him—but Kazuki's Spiritual Explosion ignited, blasting them apart.

Breathing heavily, he dropped to the ground and muttered, "Okay, that was a nice hour of training. It's gonna take me time to reattach those traps back tho. What a pain." He looked at the sky "Battle of domains huh? Sounds cool."

Later, he returned home, showered, and stood on his balcony, sipping a cold drink while gazing at the city. A small thought slipped out.

"I wonder how Alex is doing…"

Elsewhere, Alex trained beside a roaring waterfall. His body pulsed with unstable energy as he tried to master a new technique.

"Don't lose focus!" Ranpo barked from the side. "Charge it up!"

Alex gritted his teeth, energy swirling violently around him—until it suddenly exploded in a bright blast. When the smoke cleared, Alex lay on the ground, scorched and winded.

"This is harder than I expected," Ranpo mumbled.

Alex groaned. "I don't think I can master this Explosion Technique... it's too much."

"You're overdoing it," Rambo said, walking over. "The key is control. You charge your energy to its limit—then release it at the right moment. Not before, not after."

Alex nodded slowly. "Got it... I think I need a break."

Later that afternoon, Alex sat in the park devouring food like he hadn't eaten in days. Ranpo watched, baffled.

"How can one person eat that much?"

Alex finished and lay on the grass with a satisfied sigh. "I feel alive again."

"Well then," Ranpo smirked, "You've got enough energy to train some more."

Alex bolted upright in protest. "Nooo! We've been training since 6am! This is 1:50"

Rambo sighed, glancing at the sky. "Fine, we're done for today."

"YES!" Alex yelled, jumping in celebration. "Hey, wanna play some games?"

Ranpo chuckled, briefly lost in thought—flashing back to a moment from long ago. A young Misaki, just twelve, had once asked him for a sparring match with that same energy.

Back in the present, Alex waved his hand in front of Ranpo's face. "You good? You spaced out."

"I'm fine," Ranpo said, smiling. "Just... remembering something important."

He looked at Alex with soft resolve.

"No matter what... I'll see you through to the end."
