I was stunned, shocked by Faith’s accusation. There wasn’t anything going on between me and the Alpha despite how badly I wanted there to be something there. I was a student, and he was my training mentor, it never went beyond that.


“Nothing, he’s just training me as I told you.”


I tucked the loose strands of my hair behind my ear while looking at my best friend. I wasn’t sure where she had gotten her information from, but whomever it was had gotten it all wrong.


“Don’t lie to me, Dawn, we’re best friends,” she countered. What did she want me to say? Did she want me to lie to her? Alpha Liam hadn’t shown any other indication that there was anything more between us.
