Chapter 25: Birthday Surprise

HORSEGUARDS HOTEL-GARDEN PARTY

POV MARCELINE

"I thought garden parties were usually held during the day?" I questioned as Grey pulled out the gift from the car before handing his keys to the valet.

"My mother never does anything the usual way," Grey replied and took my hand in his as we made our way to the front door. Grey waved at the guest attendant as we passed the line people were waiting to get in.

I watched as a few of them took our bags to the elevators that led to the hotel portion of the building. The hotel felt old, but classy. So many people were milling about in evening wear. I was glad Stacy had made me go out today instead of letting me wear my drab dresses.

The dress Grey had gotten me fit perfectly, of course. The fabric was light and flowed past my feet in a small train of orange and white. Grey handed the gift to another attendant as we walked into the main room.
