HORSEGUARD HOTEL
POV GREY
"Enough!" I shouted after my mother pushed Stacy into my arms so the photographers could get more pictures. "I am done playing your games, mother." I turned around and started looking for Marceline. I felt panic spear through me as the crowd pushed in tighter and I couldn't see her.
"Marceline?" I called out, looking for the top of her curly head. I started pushing people out of the way to look for her. But she was gone. I reached for my phone, preparing to call her when I saw a text was waiting for me.
'I'm out,' was all she said. The panic from before spiked through me again as I realized she had left without telling me. What did she mean she was 'out'? One of the valet attendants brought my car around and I had to push several more people out of the way to get the keys.
"Get in, mother," I said, practically shoving her into my passenger seat.
