MARCELINE'S HOME
POV MARCELINE
Taking a seat next to me, Grey gave me a side-eyed look of question. I responded with a small shrug of my shoulders. I didn't know any better than him what my parents wanted. But I had a small feeling I knew what it was.
"I read an interesting article today," my mother started. I looked over at my father, but he wouldn't meet my eyes.
"Oh, what about?" I asked.
"It was about you two," my mother continued, her voice hard and serious. "The article said that you would be getting married in less than two weeks. Care to explain?"
"It's true," Grey blurted before I could think of a better way to ease them into this conversation. "We are getting married."
My mother stared at me, "Marceline?"
I sighed, "He's right, mother. I've been meaning to tell you for some time now."
She scoffed, "As your mother I should have known before you were even engaged! How did this all happen?"
