Chapter 41: A Bear's Nose Knows

Autumn answers the call in a hurry, almost dropping her phone on the ground while putting her friend on speaker. Knowing her face could be plastered around town on missing posters has her on edge.

“Oh, my God! Please tell me you guys found him,” she says upon answering. There’s no time for a ‘hello’ or ‘how’s it going’ from her.

It’s silent on the other end for a moment. Connie must have been taken aback by Autumn’s tone. “Wow, are you okay?” Connie asks, worry in her voice.

“Dustin put up missing posters with Autumn’s face on them,” Blake quickly explains. “We’re okay for now. Just trying to stay low and hope no one saw us drive through town.”

“This guy’s a special kind of psycho,” Connie replies angrily. “We parked at a building that’s listed for sale, so hopefully anyone staying up here will think we’re looking at the place. We haven't really seen any people, but Duncan was able to narrow down our search to two different cabins.”
