Autumn doesn’t know what to say as Duncan sniffles before her. Remorse has left him absolutely distraught.
“What?” she whispers, trying to come up with a better question.
“I wanted to tell you first,” he blubbers. “I’m going to the house to tell the others now. I don’t know what they will do, but I’m prepared to deal with the consequences,” he whispers while kicking at some stones.
Autumn reaches out and embraces him, causing the man to tremble and cry. “We will go together,” she says before pulling away. “Don’t worry, I’m sure we can work this out.”
She doesn’t tell him, but Autumn fears for Duncan. Blake’s whole pack has been demanding blood for the death of their Alpha, and she only hopes she can prevent it. They walk along silently, Autumn keeps a slow pace so she can assess this new information. If Liam knew about what happened, it could destroy the relationship he and Blake have been developing.
