Chapter 40: You Look Like My Luna

It was the day of the treaty agreement, and I was a nervous wreck.

Despite all my courage and show about being the Luna of Nox to Robertson and Wendy, I woke up deathly afraid. My skin was clammy, and my stomach wouldn’t stop twisting and turning. Breakfast was hard to keep down.

I knew Phoebe was out there. I knew she was plotting revenge against me and wasn’t going to stop until I was dead.

Sarah, acting as Wendy’s replacement, was caught up on the drama with Phoebe and looked like she was the target instead of me. She would wring her hands all the time and look over her shoulder. I felt bad for her.

Sarah pulled the green velvet dress I wore to the engagement party over my head. It was my favorite dress, and it would look stunning with a black leather corset and pearls.
