chapter 7 Going to the city

As he finally got out of the artifact, Xua Yan was exhausted from his time spent inside. Despite the strange experience of time moving differently within the artifact, he was able to take in all the knowledge and experiences he gained and was excited to put them to the test. He made his way to his shelter and immediately went to sleep, eager to rest and process everything that had happened.

The next morning, Xua Yan woke up refreshed and ready to experiment with the capabilities of the artifact. He started by testing the preservation of his food. He stored some fruits and meats inside the artifact and after a day, he took them out and found that they were still fresh and unspoiled. This discovery was a game changer for Xua Yan as it allowed him to store his food for longer periods of time without worrying about them going bad.

Xua Yan then decided to test the artifact's ability to preserve living things. He took some tree and plant seeds and placed them inside the artifact. To his surprise, after a day, he found that the seeds had sprouted and were now small plants. This discovery was a breakthrough for Xua Yan as it meant that he could potentially take plants and trees with him on his journey and have a source of food and shelter wherever he went.

With these new discoveries, Xua Yan felt that the artifact was a powerful tool that could help him in his journey. He spent the next few days experimenting with the artifact, testing its limits and trying to understand its capabilities. He knew that with time and more experience, he would be able to unlock the full potential of this mysterious artifact and use it to achieve his goal of becoming stronger and move forward on his martial path.

After Xua Yan had spent some time experimenting with the artifact and understanding its capabilities, he named it Entropy. He began to use it to his advantage, particularly in his martial arts training. With the help of Entropy, Xua Yan was able to make rapid progress in his training, reaching the level 6 in the body tempering stage in a short amount of time. This was a remarkable achievement, especially considering that according to the memories he received from his new body, he had no prior knowledge or experience in martial arts.

In the memories, Xua Yan had found out about the three main stages of martial arts - body tempering, energy gathering, and gathering qi from the air. Each of these stages were further divided into nine parts, and Xua Yan was currently in the body tempering stage. Body tempering stage is an important stage in martial arts, as it helps to strengthen the body and increase its resistance to injuries. It also helps to improve physical endurance, making the practitioner more agile and able to perform more complex martial arts moves.

Xua Yan was able to make rapid progress in this stage, thanks to the help of Entropy. He was able to absorb the spiritual qi from the world inside the artifact, and use it to temper his body. The spiritual qi inside the artifact was incredibly dense and pure, and it allowed Xua Yan to make progress at a much faster rate than he would have been able to otherwise.

The second stage was energy gathering, which required the cultivation of Qi and the control of energy flow in the body. This stage was considered to be the most important stage, as it was the foundation for the last stage. The last stage was gathering qi from air, which required the practitioner to be able to gather and absorb qi from the surrounding environment, which would help them to further strengthen their body and improve their cultivation.

chapter 7

During his time inside the Entropy, Xua Yan focused on mastering the martial arts techniques that he had learned from the floating books. He practiced the cultivation method that he had learned from the "Understanding creation and arts of gathering qi" book and was able to make significant progress in the body tempering stage. This stage focuses on strengthening the physical body and increasing its endurance, which is essential for martial arts training.

Xua Yan also made use of the knowledge that he had gained from the "Essence of martial arts" book. He studied the history and different paths of martial arts, which helped him to understand the techniques that he was practicing better. He also had a feeling that the complete knowledge of the book was still locked into his mind and as he progressed and traveled on his martial path, the knowledge from that book would get unlocked or he had to make manual effort in understanding the book by himself in order to unlock the remaining information from that book.

To maintain his physical strength and energy, Xua Yan came out of the Entropy from time to time to set up traps to catch wild animals and hunt for bigger animals as his strength grew. He knew that in order to continue making progress in his martial arts training, he needed to maintain a balanced diet and sufficient energy levels.

Xua Yan had been cultivating inside the Entropy for three months, which was roughly equivalent to six days in the outside world. He had made significant progress in his martial arts training, reaching level 6 in the body tempering stage and his body became completely healed. However, despite his progress, Xua Yan began to feel restless. He was tired of eating the same things over and over again and began to remember the delicious food from his past life. He realized that in order to cook tasty food, he would need ingredients like salt and pepper.

Xua Yan decided that it was time for him to venture out into the city. He felt that he had sufficient strength to protect himself from the young man who had beaten the owner of his current body to death. He remembered that the young man was from a powerful family and was feared by many, but Xua Yan felt confident in his ability to defend himself. He also wanted to explore the city and find out more about the world he had been reborn into. Furthermore, He was also looking to find some ingredients to cook delicious food.

Xua Yan knew that it would be dangerous to venture out into the city, but he felt that it was a risk worth taking. He had been living a solitary life in the wilderness for three months, and he was ready for a change. He wanted to see more of the world and experience new things. He also wanted to find ingredients to cook delicious food. The main reason he decided to live in the forest was because his body and his internal organs were damaged by the beating of that young man's bodyguards. He first needed to heal his body completely and gain sufficient strength to protect himself. And the second reason was that he didn't have any place to live in the city because the only place he had to live there was in the hotel he was working in. And from many incidents that happened previously in which staff of that hotel got beaten to death by customers, and the owner of that hotel didn't care about them because he had to run his business and didn't want to get into any trouble.

When he finally prepared himself to go to the city he faced a problem that he had no money. When he starts analysing his memory he remembered from the memories of his new body that many groups of hunters went into the forest to hunt wild animals and sell the materials they obtained from the hunt in order to earn money. Xua Yan decided to do the same. He gathered all the materials he had obtained from the wild animals he had hunted during his training period in the Entropy. Unlike his previous world, the currency in this world was gold and silver, and he needed to find a way to earn some in order to buy the ingredients he needed, such as salt and pepper etc.

After 4 hours of continuous walking and running, As Xua Yan approached the city gates, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and after some time Xua Yan finally arrived at the city gates. The name of the city was Seven Hills City, The city, which was under the protection of the Seven Hill Sect, was a part of the kingdom known as Heavenly Retreat. Xua Yan had heard of the sect before, through the memories of his new body, and knew that they were known for their powerful martial artists and their strict laws.

As he approached the gates, Xua Yan realized that he was going to have a problem getting into the city. He was dressed in tattered clothes, which was not uncommon for someone who had been living in the wilderness for a prolonged period, but he had no money to pay the tax required to enter the city. He had been so focused on reaching the city that he had not thought about how he would pay for the entrance fee.

The guards at the gates looked at him suspiciously, noticing his tattered clothes and lack of money. Xua Yan knew that he would have to think quickly in order to enter the city. He remembered that many groups of hunters went into the forest to hunt and sell the materials they gathered to earn money. Xua Yan had been gathering materials from the wild animals he had hunted during his training period in the Entropy and he had a small amount of materials in his bag. He quickly pulled out the materials and offered them to the guards as payment for the entrance fee.

The guards looked at the materials, and after a short discussion, they didn't allow him to enter the city. This was a major setback for Xua Yan as he had no other means of obtaining money.

As he stood at a distance from the city gates, thinking about a plan, he was suddenly pushed aside by a young man from a group of mercenaries who were returning from a hunting trip from the jungle. This group was heavily armed and had a significant amount of supplies with them, which caught the attention of Xua Yan.

Xua Yan realized that this could be his chance to obtain the money he needed. He remembered his past life experience in stealing things and decided to rob the group of mercenaries. He knew that it would be risky but he was willing to take that risk if it meant being able to enter the city and find the ingredients he needed.

As the group of mercenaries were focused on the guards and entering the city, Xua Yan stealthily made his way into the middle of the group without alerting anyone. He quickly snatched whatever he could, including many bags, weapons, and other valuable items. With his loot in hand, Xua Yan quickly hid inside the Entropy before anyone could notice.

Xua Yan felt a mix of relief and excitement as he looked at his loot. He had successfully obtained 50 silver coins and he only needed 5 coins in order to enter the city, but he knew that he had to be careful as the group of mercenaries could come looking for him. He decided to stay inside the Entropy for a while longer to avoid being caught.

Xua Yan knew that his actions were not morally right but he had no other choice. He would not have done this if they politely told him to move aside and not pushed him like that. After some time of waiting he finally decided to come out of the Entropy. As he came out he quickly moved to the roadside and hid into the bushes. He saw that the mercenary group was still passing through the gate.
