Chapter 52 - Soaps in the other world

"What's that?"

Rebecca asked, uncertainly.

"This is called soap. It is made using the oil extracted from flowers"

I said, smiling. Upon hearing my explanation, Rebecca approached and took the soap in her hand.

"Try smelling it"

I suggested. Rebecca brought the soap to her nose and inhaled.

"What is it? It smells so good"

Rebecca remarked.

"This is used when you take a shower. You apply it all over your body, making your body smell just like the soap"

I explained. Rebecca seemed genuinely surprised by my words, and her expression was quite amusing.

"Getting the same smell... is that even possible?"

Rebecca asked, examining the soap as if it were made of gold.

"It is possible. I was considering selling it as a new product from our company. Do you think it would sell?"

I inquired, capturing Rebecca's attention. In response, she vigorously nodded her head.

"I'm sure it will. Everyone will want to buy it. It will be a huge success"

Rebecca exclaimed. I was taken aback by her enthusiasm. To be honest, I didn't expect people to embrace this concept of hygiene so quickly.

"You can keep this one. It's just a prototype anyway. We'll perfect it over time"

I offered, smiling playfully at Rebecca.

"Are you sure about this? Giving me something so valuable?"

Rebecca questioned.

"You've been helping me for quite some time. This is the least I can do for you, especially since you seem to really like the idea. Besides, let me know if you experience any irritation or anything when you use it"

I reassured her. Although I doubted it would cause any irritation, the flowers I used to make the soap appeared perfect, and I followed the formula I remembered from my past life.

"In that case, I gratefully accept it"

Rebecca replied, smiling.

"By the way, how has Ammy been?"

I asked curiously. It had been a while since I last saw Ammy.

"Oh, she's been fine. She always says that the books you write for her have helped her a lot in her development as a doctor. She's probably still studying in your lab in the next room"

Rebecca informed me, wearing a smile.

"Glad to hear that... Changing the subject, how are the other three stores doing?"

I inquired. A few days ago, I purchased three additional stores, which was necessary to improve the flow of customers to this store. Additionally, I planned to use one of the stores to sell candy. This idea had been on my mind for days, and with the expansion of my store, now was the perfect time to execute it. I already have several candy recipes in mind, and though I may lack some ingredients, it should be relatively easy to make them myself. This would also allow me to maintain a certain level of monopoly.

"Oh, and of course, they are already ready to be opened. Ammy's brothers have already been dispatched to each of them to manage the stores"

Rebecca said.

"Probably the new stores will open next week, but..."

I started to say, but Rebecca interrupted me with a curious stare.

"It's okay. If you have any questions, you can ask me"

I reassured her. Hearing my words, Rebecca nodded and asked her question.

"And one of the stores will be used to make candy, as you mentioned. I'm sorry if I sound rude, but what kind of candy do you intend to make? Is it very different from what you usually make?"

Rebecca inquired. I didn't blame her for wondering, as what I typically produced was quite distinct from candy.

"Oh, don't worry. I can assure you the taste of the candy"

I replied with a smile. Since the candies were from my past life, I knew exactly what their flavors were, so I was confident they would be a success in this world, which wasn't as advanced in terms of food or confectionery. After that, the night continued as usual. I had dinner with Rebecca and Ammy, and then I retired to one of the rooms upstairs in the store. Rebecca and Ammy returned to their homes, bidding me goodnight. The next day, as soon as I woke up, I had a simple breakfast. Today, I was going to purchase some items that I would use to make a candy to present in my store.

With that in mind, I left the store and headed to the shops that sold eggs and other ingredients necessary for making candy. Once I returned to my store, I went straight to Ammy's lab, the only place in the store equipped with the necessary tools for candy-making. As soon as I opened the door, Ammy stood before me, looking puzzled.

"Oh, do you need something, boss?"

Ammy asked, confused.

"Sorry to interrupt. I'll be using your kitchen equipment for a while"

I said, walking past her.

"I don't mind, but... what are you going to do?"

Ammy asked, curious.

"I'll be preparing some foods that I plan to sell, including candy"

I replied, unpacking my purchases and placing them on the counter.

"Candy? So, you know how to make candy too, boss?"

Ammy asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Yes, I can. I hope you all enjoy these candies as much as I do"

I said, a smile on my face as I thought about the expressions of people tasting the candies from my past life—crepes, pudding, chocolate, and more.

(I can't wait to see how the people of this world will react to the candies from my world)

I mused.
