As we approached the kingdom, the sight of the imposing walls that surrounded the city became clear on the horizon. Our carriage headed towards the main gate, and the guards stationed there quickly recognized the distinctive emblems adorning our vehicle. They were the emblems of the Solaris royal family, an unquestionable proof of our identity and position. The guards, aware of the importance of the royal emblems, didn't even attempt to stop us.
It was their duty to know how to recognize the symbols representing the different noble families and houses of the kingdom. After all, it was directly linked to their function and responsibility as guardians of the kingdom. The presence of the royal emblems on our carriages not only indicated our noble lineage but also conveyed a clear message about our authority and influence. This meant that with this emblem, we would be received with respect.
Passing through the city gates felt like entering a whole new world. Paved streets stretched before us, perfectly aligned and lined with elegant buildings. The structures were made of stone and wood, reminiscent of Solaris. The streets were filled with artists and artisans, dedicated to their crafts and sharing their skills with the world. We could see painters capturing breathtaking landscapes on their canvases, craftsmen working with wood, metal, and ceramics, and musicians playing enchanting melodies on traditional instruments.
My father, my mother, and my sister looked outside with curious and amazed eyes. None of them had ever left the territories of Solaris, so their reaction was quite normal. Of course, I wasn't much different, even with the knowledge of my past life, the maximum foreign countries I knew were from images and photos.
"Look, Mom, Dad, brother, so many beautiful paintings"
Said Anna. Her eyes sparkled with admiration as she looked out of the carriage.
"Everything here is so beautiful and colorful"
My mother responded after hearing Emi's words, putting a warm smile on her face.
"You're right, dear. Once we settle in, we'll take a family stroll to explore all of this"
My mother said with a smile, looking at the excited Anna. Upon hearing my mother's words, Anna turned to her, appearing even more thrilled than before.
"Hahaha, you're absolutely right, dear"
Added my father, sharing Anna's excitement.
"This is our first time visiting another kingdom. It would be a real waste to spend all this time indoors"
My father said, getting excited, but his words were not wrong, the city was simply too stunning to put into words. It was undeniable that we had entered another world. While I pondered on that, the carriage continued to make its way towards the place where we would stop. After a few minutes in the carriage, it finally arrived at our destination, giving us some rest after the long journey. The nobles and the royal family have mansions in Crystal for when they need to stay here for some time. The king asked us to stay in his mansion since it would be quite challenging to find another place at the last minute.
Although I felt embarrassed at first, I ended up giving in because he told me that, as a family, we should spend more time together. Well, Emi also asked me if the reason I didn't want to stay in the same house as them was that I didn't want to be with her. When she said that, I had no choice but to accept it since I would feel bad if I hurt her in any way. I guess the only part I didn't like about it was that Albert laughed at me when he saw that scene.
As the carriage entered the property where we would stay, a beautiful garden stretched from both sides of the carriage. No matter which way you looked, we were surrounded by flowers. A little further ahead, there was a fountain right in the middle of the path, which I found quite beautiful, to be honest. As the carriage circled around the fountain, it finally stopped in front of the door. One by one, we got off the carriage and soon found ourselves at the entrance of the mansion.
As we all approached the mansion, the large door opened, giving us a view of what was inside. A spacious hallway stretched before us, illuminated by gleaming golden chandeliers that cast a soft and welcoming light on the surroundings. Elegant and impeccably decorated furniture filled every space, creating an atmosphere of sophistication and comfort. Fine tapestries adorned the walls, depicting some images that I personally didn't know the meaning of, but I understood their beauty. Porcelain vases and meticulously sculpted sculptures added a touch of art and refinement.
As we ventured further into the mansion, we caught glimpses of luxurious living rooms, where upholstered sofas and armchairs invited moments of relaxation and conversation. An imposing fireplace emanated warmth and comfort, creating a cozy atmosphere during the colder nights. A stunning dining room awaited to host banquets and celebrations. A long table, meticulously set, was ready to accommodate guests, surrounded by richly ornamented chairs. Extravagant chandeliers hung from the ceiling, spreading a soft light and illuminating mealtime with a charming glow.
With all this luxury, it was impossible not to be surprised. Well, I guess I should expect that, considering we're talking about the royal family. For them, this is probably not even that luxurious. With that thought in mind, we were led by the servants to the place where our rooms would be. As the maid opened the door to my room, I was dazzled by what I saw. It was adorned with a sumptuous bed covered in fine fabrics and canopies. Silk curtains and delicate tapestries framed the windows. It was a magnificent space, with every detail carefully thought out. It was like entering a haven of tranquility, and the soft sunlight coming through the window made it a perfect place to rest and recharge.
