Chapter 164

"My blood is the only blood that will be sacrificed today." I growled out.

I narrowed my eyes as the king stood, still unsure of what to make of him. He stepped down from his perch and walked around me. My eyes were trained on him, waiting for any possible movement. He grabbed my wrist that was holding the knife, lifting it to the chest of his towering figure.

"You had someone willing to sacrifice himself for you to gain the throne and four strangers who haven't uttered a word to you.. yet you decide to put your life on the line. Why not take one of theirs to guarantee the blood sacrifice was accepted? Who's to say I won't kill you and then still kill them?" He looked down at me questioningly, taking the knife from my grasp.
