Chapter Twelve: Information

Shinichi's POV

"Ohayou!" someone said loudly.

Argh! It's still early in the morning but someone is now shouting loudly to my ears near me. Wait. Near me?

I took the pillow out of my ears and a pillow suddenly flew to my face. I took it out of my face and I flinched when I saw Ran's face near mine.

"R-Ran..."

She looked at me with the most innocent eyes. I stared at her uncomfortably. "OHAYOU!" she suddenly shouted right in my face that my eardrums can't take it.

She goes away and took the pillow on the floor and dusted it off. "W-What are you doing in my room?" I asked her curiously as I stared at her unbelievably.

"Of course I could go in here. I'm your best friend," she said and took the pile of books in the floor beside my bed. "Geez. You're still messy with your books as always. You're still the old Shinichi I know." She sighed heavily and put it on my desk.

"W-Why are you touching my things? Who said you could come here, huh?" I stuttered as I stood up from the bed.

She looked down and smirked playfully. "Yah, Shinichi."

"W-What?" I asked irritatingly.

"Would you mind go to the bathroom for the moment?" She looked away. "You seemed to have a problem... there," she said as she glanced down.

I followed her eyes and I felt embarrassed as I instantly know what she's talking about. I put my hands there quickly as I felt my cheeks turned red.

"Pervert!" I shouted before I ran to the bathroom and closed the door. "Geez... That girl..."

Third Person's View

She chuckled and fixed up his bed. After that, she went downstairs with a pile of books in her hands and walk towards the library. She puts the books back to its own accord.

She hummed as she put the books to the proper bookshelves. And when she was finished, she took one book about guns and read it to the living room until Shinichi finished.

While reading a book, her phone suddenly vibrated through her jean's pocket. She took it out and answer the call. "Hello?"

"It's me, Ran-kun."

"Oh, Hattori-kun. Why did you call?"

"I and Kazuha finished our research about the person you want us to find out."

Ran looked behind her and on her side before she answered back. "What is it?"

"Hayley Ford has connections with the Black Organization. She was codenamed as Eclipse. We also found out that she is the daughter of Vermouth and Gin, which is really a shocking fact by the way. She also has a brother codenamed Singani. Don't know what the real name is but probably we knew that he is a support for his sister's plans and to the organization of course."

"What's the position of Hayley in the organization?"

"An assistant to execute all the plans in order," Heiji replied. "We also have some pieces of information about her identity in America."

"Explain."

"She is a student from the same school as Kudo Shinichi. She appeared as a new student in Shinichi's second semester when he was in the second year on his course. Hayley took a different course but some of their subjects seem to align. It's quite a bit weird though. Her subjects sometimes don't match her main course but she graduated as the valedictorian of the course."

"How does she became Shinichi's girlfriend?"

"The main school hasn't had any confirmations that Shinichi and Hayley have a relationship with each other but their schoolmates can. A student from that school is here in Tokyo and our connections could pull the strings off," Heiji replied. "He said that Hayley started flirting with Shinichi in the middle of the second semester and they went into the relationship in the third year of their college years."

"So, you mean Shinichi didn't court Hayley?"

"Not exactly. The person said there are times that Kud-kun became sweet to Hayley. They've even mistaken them as childhood friends by their closeness."

"But he did not exactly court, didn't he?"

"He came once in Hayley's house to court but Hayley's parents weren't there so he gave up, as what his friend said."

"He gave up the courting session? How's that possible? I know Shinichi. If he likes someone, he will--"

"And their relationship became worse," Heiji continued. "Kudo-kun became farther to Hayley when the second semester came in their third year."

"What do you mean by farther?"

"He is avoiding her, Ran. His friend told us that he is avoiding Hayley, even when she is flirting. She is like a ghost. But in the middle of the second semester, Kudo-kun started talking to her but they haven't gotten back to the normal relationship they were."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Shinichi talked to her but he's still cold inside. He isn't sweet to his girlfriend anymore nor goes out on a date with her anymore. This might take a sign to you to take your man away from other girls, Ran-kun."

"Hey, Heiji! No teasing Ran-chan! Give me your cellphone!" Kazuha shouted and took Heiji's phone away from his grasp.

"Y-Ya--"

"Hello, Ran-chan? Don't listen to Heiji's tease. He's just an idiot," Kazuha said, making Ran chuckled. "The information about Kudo-kun is real though."

"I know, Kazuha-chan. I know." She shook her head thinking Heiji and Kazuha will fight again after the call. That two...

"Are you okay with what you heard from Heiji, Ran-chan?"

"Hm. I think Shinichi only became a temporary sweet boyfriend to Hayley. I think I might get with it. I could fix the broken glass I guess."

"What do you mean? Going to fix their relationship?"

"No. I'll be going to make Shinichi's memories go back. I'll stick to the original plan."

"Oh, okay. That's great." Kazuha smiled. "I hope your plan would be a successful one."

Ran smiled. "Thanks," she replied. "And oh, can I ask another favor again?"

"Sure. What is it?"

"Block all the connections about my identity."

"What?" Kazuha frowned. "Why?"

"Hayley must have been pissed off and wants to get rid of me because I got close to Shinichi once again. Do it now."

"Sure thing. No problem."

"Thanks, Kazuha-chan. Send my thanks to Hattori-kun. I'm in Shinichi's house right now. Going to get busy. Bye."

"Okay. Bye."

As she ended the call with Heiji and Kazuha, an idea popped on her mind. She smiled as she stood up from the couch, closed the book she's reading, and joyfully hopping towards the kitchen.
