Michelle's mouth slackened, her eyes widened. Her stomach hardened in disbelief and she was at a loss for words. The way he would look at her, and sometimes he would invite her to come into his office for no reason, and how he would make excuses to chat with her made it clear to her that he liked her, but did he really have to be straightforward like this? Seriously, her heart was throbbing against her chest like it was going to explode, and her face was as red as a tomato without knowing what to say.
Michelle gazed into Mark's piercing blue eyes, and her cheeks turned crimson with embarrassment. She cleared her throat and managed to stutter out, "Mark, what are you doing? You're standing too close, and I can't seem to control myself when you're this near. Please let go of me so we can talk properly." Mark chuckled at her words.
"I'll only release you if you agree to go out with me. I'm not playing with your feelings. I genuinely want to get to know you better because I like you so much," he said, his eyes sparkling with sincerity.
Michelle blinked and swallowed hard, her heart racing so fast that she thought it might burst out of her chest. "What if I refuse?" she stammered.
"Then I'll have no choice but to kiss you right now. At least I'll have some memories of you through your lips, even if we're not together," Mark whispered, his voice husky with emotion.
Michelle swallowed hard, her heart pounding so hard . "I – I dare you to do that," Michelle stuttered.
Mark leaned in closer to Michelle, his heart pounding with anticipation. As he pressed his lips against hers, he felt a rush of electricity coursing through his body. Their kiss deepened, their tongues intertwining in a passionate dance. It was a French kiss, and it was unlike anything Mark had ever experienced before. In that moment, with Michelle's arms around his waist, he knew he had found the one he wanted to be with forever.
Realizing that she got carried away, Michelle quickly pushed Mark away from her. It's not like she hated the kiss, but she didn't expect him to steal her first kiss in his office. She was expecting something more romantic. She cleared her throat and said, "I hope you take responsibility for stealing my first kiss." Michelle stuttered and ran out of the cabin.
Mark's eyes squinted, lit with an inner glow, and his body temperature began to rise. He walked over to his chair and sat down, reminiscing about the taste of Michelle's lips. They tasted like a perfect blend of chocolate and mint, so sweet that he yearned to kiss her again and again. He couldn't believe he had the courage to do it, but he had no regrets and craved more of her lips. If only he had known sooner how sweet a kiss could be, he would have started dating a long time ago. This is truly a delightful experience."I will surely take responsibility for stealing your first kiss, that I promise." Mark mumbled, smiling happily.
....
Maxwell and Melissa were in the middle of watching a movie when Melissa turned her attention to Maxwell. Her instinct told her that Zick was going to do something, and she trusted her instincts. She was scared that he would separate her from Maxwell and harm her babies. She didn't want to go away from him after everything he had done for her. He gave her all the reasons to live, which she herself had forgotten. He taught her to love herself and showered her with so much love, not to mention how much he respected her. She was sure that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him only.
Maxwell noticed that Melissa was watching him instead of the movie, so he decided to ask what was wrong with her.
"Are you okay?" he asked softly.
Without saying a word, Melissa leaned in closer to Maxwell.. She breathed in deeply, taking in the scent of his cologne. Without hesitation, she parted her lips and pressed them softly against his, feeling a flood of warmth rush through her body. Her tongue tentatively explored the contours of his mouth, tracing the outline of his teeth and caressing his tongue in a gentle dance. As they deepened the kiss, Melissa could feel Maxwell's hands sliding down her back, pulling her closer to him on the couch. With every passing moment, the passion between them grew stronger, and Melissa knew that this moment was one that she would never forget. Even if something happens to her, she will always cherish these memories in her heart.
Both Maxwell and Mellisa were panting heavily when they broke away from the kiss. A warmth spread through Maxwell's chest, causing his breath to quiver. It was evident that Mellisa was the one who initiated the kiss, which meant that she had accepted him as her husband wholeheartedly. Although he was concerned about Zick and Tina's unknown plan, he was willing to break the promise he made to Mellisa of not harming Zick if it meant protecting her from harm. There was no way he would allow Zick to harm Mellisa without taking action, as promises were meant to be broken. If Zick did something foolish, he would not hesitate to act.
"Maxwell," Melissa called, looking straight into his eyes without breaking eye contact. "You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I wish I had met you sooner. I wouldn't have had to go through all those hellish things in my life. I don't know much about love, but I will tell you what's in my heart now because life is too short. I truly like you, Maxwell. I want to start a new life with you, Shina, Linda, Michelle, and our babies. I want us to be together and live happily." Melissa took Maxwell's hand into hers as she continued. "Unfortunately, we don't know what the future holds, but I want you to know that you are the best thing that ever happened to me, and I don't want to lose you.
Maxwell was overwhelmed by Melissa's confession. He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. Without trying again, he pulled Melissa into a tight hug. He was happy to know that Melissa liked him and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. He couldn't believe that God had given him a second chance to have a happy family. He was going to cherish this opportunity and make his family happy. "I love you, Melissa," Maxwell said, his voice husky with emotion. "I love you so much that I will kill whoever tries to separate us. I promise you."
Melissa hugged Maxwell more tightly without saying anything else.
