Talks & Meeting (UPDATED)

"No. I just don't remember much from my childhood. My teachers can attest to my story. They have already been through my mind and I have no desire to be read again." I stated.

"Your teachers?" Oromis asked.

'Young Oromis and Glaedr. It has been a long time.' Markai said.

"T-t-teacher?! Is it truly you?" Oromis said as tears started to fall from his eyes.

'Yes it's me, stop your crying. Your grace, would you present me to my first student please?' Markai asked.

"Of course, Teacher." I said as I brought the massive Eldunari into my hand. It was almost four feet across but my strength allowed me to hold it steadily in one hand. "I present, my Teacher Markai."

'I'm honored, truly. My first student and my last student meeting...it's honestly an amazing feeling. Hey Oromis and Glaedr, these two are already full Dragon and Rider. We all recognize them as full members of the Riders. You two may be the oldest, but they are ranked just as high as you. You'll find out why we have decided this later. I only tell you this so you don't try to pull rank on them.' Markai said seriously.

"Already members of the high table? I'm not arguing, but why?" Oromis asked.

'Besides, because I said so? How about the fact he is betrothed to the Princess and future King. I don't need you trying to give him orders.' Markai clarified.

"Ah. My apologies Teacher. It's just a shock since no one was allowed a seat at the high table before the age of one thousand years old." Oromis said.

'We won't live to see the day he reaches one thousand, Oromis.' Glaedr said softly.

"Why not?" I asked.

"A topic for another time. I'll just say that my body is failing me in ways magic can not help." Oromis said.

"Maybe I could help?" I asked.

"No. There are things that you must cast on yourself for the magic to remain. And a part of me is broken. I can no longer cast the long and difficult spells to save myself." Oromis said sadly.

"Hmm...Reyndu að lækna Oromis. (Try to heal Oromis.) i said."

"No, WAIT!" Oromis tried to stop me.

'Leave him be Oromis. This boy can do things with magic we've never thought of. Besides, if it's a matter of magic energy, then do not forget that we have two dragons and several Eldunari.' Markai said.

"Several?!' Oromis asked in shock.

'Yes, now be silent so we can maintain contact with the boy. Sit down and get comfortable.' Markai instructed.

An hour later I was covered in sweat thinking I was going to have to cancel the spell. Just as I was going to cancel the spell, I felt his injury shift, this implied he was beginning to heal. Immediately after I felt 13 minds connect to my own and their magics flowed into me, pushing the spell to its max.

After another thirty minutes, Oromis was healed and the spell was canceled.

"Alright, Brother Oromis. How do you feel?" I asked.

Slowly standing up Oromis started to cast a spell he knew would cause him to have a seizure but it would be the weakest possible. A tiny flame, no larger than a candle could produce was formed right in front of Oromis. After a few seconds his face started to break out in a smile. He started to have the flame orbit around him as he produced more and more. Eventually, he had twenty candle lights flying around him as he was shedding tears. He raised his hands and made the flames grow larger before they flew hundreds of feed into the sky and came together in one giant fireball and exploded into a giant flower in the sky.

"I guess that means you're healed." I said.

"Yes. Yes, I'm healed, Brother Evanyar. I thank you." he said as he fell to his hands and knees in prostration.

"I'm not comfortable with this type of bow, please rise Brother. Besides, you should thank everyone here as well. They provided the energy after the spell started working." I insisted.

Standing up, Oromis bowed to everyone present and said "I thank you all!"

"Well, if you want to thank everybody..." I said before I made the ground morph into eleven pedestals for all the Eldunari.

After they were all placed, Oromis started to cry again as he bowed to each one, thanking them individually.

After he was done, I brought the Eldunari back into my ring and returned the ground to its previous state, and said "We were just about to take the night here to rest. Neither of us really wants to deal with the people of Ellesmera as we've been flying for the last twelve days straight."

"Then warp the light around the both of you and come to my place. You will have a peaceful night there. It's away from people and nobody bothers to come to visit me." Oromis insisted.

"Then we'll be in your care." I said.

"Follow us." Oromis said as he jumped onto Glaedr with a laugh.

It was only now I noticed Glaedr was missing a leg. 'Teacher? If it's done slowly, can a limb be regrown?' I asked Markai.

'Yes. But for a limb that large it would take weeks by yourself and we only helped because of the seriousness of Oromis's injury. You'll be on your own with Glaedr, but we'll keep an eye out.' Markai said.

'Thank you Teacher. Ēborisk, I'll be trusting you to protect me at that time.' I said.

'It goes without saying, partner.' Ēborisk assured me.

As soon as we were about to land I noticed a few Elves were waiting in the clearing.

'Land behind Glaedr. We're still invisible so they can't see us but I didn't set up any anti sound spells. Not to mention they'll notice the ground you land on.' I said to all Ēborisk, Glaedr and Oromis so Glaedr could take longer landing.

After landing and staying completely still, Oromis dismounted and said "My Queen. My Princess. How may I aid you today?"

"Oromis, we just came to check up on you. The elves that were nearby reported that you and Glaedr took off at a speed they haven't seen you move in almost a century." Queen Islanzadi said with concern.

"I'm sorry to have worried you both. We just had a sudden urge to go for a fast flight. It may be our last one, after all." Oromis said.

'You are so full of shit.' I said with an internal laugh.

This caused Oromis to choke up and Glaedr to cough out a large amount of smoke.

"Are you sure you are both alright? Did that flight harm your lungs in any way, Oromis?" Arya asked.

(I'm not bothering with the honorifics like elda and stuff. my Grammer is bad enough without having to add in things I don't think about)

"We're both fine, Princess. Just dealing with an annoying voice in my head." Oromis said pointedly.

'Alright, I get the point. Don't make things difficult unless I want to be exposed now.' I said reluctantly.

"A voice in your head? Is someone else here Oromis?" Arya asked while looking around.

After a moment of hesitation, Oromis answered "Yes, but it's late and my guests would like to get some rest for today before meeting anyone. They have had a long and hard journey."

".....very well, Oromis. But I expect to meet them by weeks end. You know I love to have visitors in the city." Islanzadi said.

"I'll be leaving tomorrow night to take the egg to the dwarves. Hopefully, we can have another Rider on our side soon." Arya said.

'...Oromis. Please convince my betrothed to stay for a bit. I'm sure this journey will take her months or even years to complete.' I asked after some hesitation.

"Princess...I would invite you to dinner since you are leaving tomorrow." Oromis said after some thought.

"Why not me, Oromis?" Islanzadi asked with a pout.

"Uum...." Oromis hesitated while waiting for a response from me.

'...very well. But only if she ditches the guards and I mean gone. I don't want anyone else near here.' I told him.

"I can invite you, my Queen. But my guests have asked that your entourage leaves. As in off my lands leaves, if you are to stay for dinner." Oromis said.

With a frown "Even my guards?"

"Even your guards, my Queen." Oromis answered.

"What makes you think..." one of the guards started to interject.

'I give my word that the guests mean no harm to any of the royal family. Everyone here is under my protection and I agree with our guests. If you are not of the royal family, leave.' Glaedr said adamantly.

"...very well. All of you, return to Ellesmera. I will be safe here." Queen Islanzadi said.

"As you command, my Queen." the same guard said as they all ran off.

"Now can you tell me what's going on, Oromis?" Islanzadi asked.

"Just as soon as I confirm that they are off my lands." Oromis said, looking in the direction the guards left.

After five minutes Oromis said "Okay. So you wanted to know why my guests insisted that you remain here, alone. Yes?" Oromis asked.

"Yes, please. The suspense is killing me." Arya said.

"Very well. It's all on you now, Brother." Oromis said as he walked to sit on a bench in front of his house.

"Brother? I haven't heard you say that since before the fall..." Islanzadi said before Ēborisk walked out from behind Glaedr.

"Gasp, another Dragon." Islanzadi said.

"And he is wearing a saddle, but where is his rider?" Arya asked, getting nervous.

"Right here." I said, dropping my invisibility spell from five feet behind them.
