The Invitation

Mc Ivan's POV

It's been a week since the death of the Chief of Police, but still, there is no update to the case.

We've been exhausted about this case, but still, we need to do everything to find Serious Guy.

We don't want Chief Doldolia to be disappointed again than he already is.

“Have you heard the news?” Maine said, one of my comrades.

We're having a quick break.

“What news?” I asked in curiosity.

“The higher ups want to close the case.” She answered.

“Yeah, I heard about it too. They would like to avoid prolonging it anymore because it will only damage us more. Imagine? We're police officers but even us, that damn Serious Guy is not even a bit afraid?”- Mica interrupts.

I nodded.

I didn't know they will just close the case so soon.

“How about the family's victim?” I asked.

“Well, rumors said that they already told them. The higher ups even paid them to agree.” Maine answered.

“And they did?”

“Yeah, they agreed.” Mica answered this time.

“They're all crying last time, and now with a bunch of money, they just forgot their family member got killed.” I shook my head, agreeing to Maine.

“It's fantastic to have girls detectives around us, right, Bro? They can easily detect gossip.” John said while laughing.

I chuckled.

I don't know if there's no man interested in our unit that, majority of us, were girls.

“If that's the case, then Serious Guy will surely do it again.” I said while stretching my body.

I have been exhausted and tired for the past days.

We're all pressured, after that emergency meeting. We're being ambush to find evidence.

“I still don't understand why he or she hates someone who laughs? Laughter is the best medicine, right?” John, on the other hand, stretches his body too.

We already forgot when was the last time we take a bath or eat something apart from cup noodles.

Oh, I even miss visiting Kissa.

I just message her on messenger that I can't visit for a while, which she understands.

“Oh, John. He's just some psycho who hates laughing. If we catch her or him, I'm going to kick his ass for giving us headaches.” Mica even rolled his eyes.

“Hmm, I bet you won't do that if he's handsome, eh?” John teased Mica.

“Well, it depends. If he's handsome, then I'll just sing, Mama, I'm in love with the criminal.” We chuckled when Mica sing using her hairbrush as a mic.

“Am, someone's coming.” Maine nudged my arms as she looked at the entrance of our office.

I smiled widely as I saw Kissa coming in. She was wearing a simple white dress.

Simple yet elegant.

I think, whatever dress she wears, will surely suit her.

“Kissa, what are you doing here?” I said as I walked towards her.

She was smiling at me, and so I am to her.

“Woah! You're really a Casanova Bro, imagine? You made your crush visit you!” John teased us.

“Stop teasing us, jerk!” I act as if I'm about to kick his ass.

“Ah, I hope I didn't disturb your work.”Kissa said, looking so shy.

“No, no, not at all, Kissa.” I said, smiling at her.

“You are not bothersome for our friend Kiss. I'm certain, if it's possible, you can live her with him, he'll love that.” Maine joined the teasing.

“Will you please stop, Guys?” I said in a serious tone.

They are making my Kissa uncomfortable.

Yes, In my dreams, she's mine.

But John and Maine just chuckled.

“Hey! You should stop laughing, the killer might pass by and if he sees you, you guys are dead of meat” Mica warned them.

They all stop laughing.

“Mica, don't joke like that!” John said, looking so scared.

“Scary cat.” Mica teased him.

I just shook my head to their craziness.

“Anyway, why are you here, Kissa? Did Neil's dog go missing again?” I said as I remembered Kissa reporting Neil's dog who went missing last week, luckily we found it.

“No, I just want to invite you all to Neil's birthday party tomorrow. Just to express my gratitude for your help with Neil.” She said smiling.

How can she be this gorgeous when smiling?

My heart is melting, Man!

Her smile feels heaven!

She's like an angel.

“You know what Kissa, that's a great timing, We've been exhausted for days due to the death of our Police Chief. “ John said while stretching his arms again.

“We will surely be there, Kissa.” I smiled.

“Even if you didn't invite him, I'm sure that Ivan will be there.” Mica teased me again.

I just glared at her.

“Sir!” we all saluted when we saw our Sergeant Nichol entered the station.

“It seems like you have a guest, hello Kissa.” Sergeant Nichol said to Kissa.

She also knew Kissa because, from what I heard, he is Kissa's ex-husband's friend.

“Hi.” Kissa replied.

“I just passed by to invite them to Neil's party tomorrow, you should come too.” Kissa answered.

“Oh, It's the 12th birthday of my godchild tomorrow. I will surely be there. Should I invite Pid too?” — Sergeant said, referring to his friend—Kissa's Ex.

Please say no!

I can't have a moment with my Kissa if he comes!

“I already did. He couldn't come as usual, but he sent money to Neil's party.” She answered in an awkward tone.

Yes!

This is my chance.

“Too bad. I'd love to see him again.” — Sergeant Nichol.

But Kissa will never like to see him again.

That cheater.

He's the reason that Neil hates me, he thinks all policemen are like his Dad.

After they talked, Kissa decided to bid her goodbye to us.

She just came here to personally give the invitation, since she knew how busy I am.

How sweet right? That's my girl.

She's giving me high hopes, that we could happen.

And it excites me, I'd love to give her the world if she'd let me.

“I have to go now.” She said smiling to all of us.

She has some errands to do and doesn't want to disturb us. After she handed the invitation, she leaves right away.

“See you Guys tomorrow.” Kissa bid her goodbye to us.

And I just followed her back as she walked away from us.
