What If He Is Serious Guy?

Kissa's POV

I was busy preparing for Neil's party tomorrow. There's a lot to prepare because definitely a lot of his friends and their parents will be here.

My son is so friendly that he made plenty of friends. He's love by everyone.

They told me that Neil is a responsible, caring, and loving towards them.

I'm so proud of my son. He's smart, matured, and really adorable.

“Mom, I heard you invited that policeman who is courting you.” Neil asked while we were having our dinner.

Except that, he hates Ivan. He doesn't want him to be my boyfriend because he thinks Ivan will do what his father did to me.

“Yes. It's just a thank-you invitation. Be good to him, okay? He managed to find your dog, even when you're so bad to him.” I answered.

“I don't like him for you, Mom, he will just cheat on you.” He said, looking so serious to me.

I smiled.

He is just a child, but he already knows things like this.

He's so mature, thinking he's simply eleven years old.

I don't blame him, though, he was also hurt when his father left us.

Left us for another woman.

I've moved on a long time ago, but I still know it has affected my son's life.

He doesn't want not just Ivan, actually, but every guy who tried to flirt with me.

He doesn't want me to be hurt again, and I love him for that.

Not only that, but he loves and cares about me so much, and I love him for that.

Furthermore, he's a treasure to me.

“Why? Because he is a policeman? Baby, not all guys are the same. Not because your father cheated on me, the other guys will do the same. Ivan is a good man. Can't you see it?” I said, defending Ivan.

I can really feel that Ivan is a good man. Unlike Neil's father.

He's consistency is telling me. He's different from all the guys I met.

Not only that, but he got principles in life that I really like.

I'm comfortable with him.

He's been courting me for ages, but he never gets tired. Even Neil didn't treat him right.

He's so patient and understanding. He never rush things with me.

We're taking it slow.

Even though, we're on the same page.

“So you like him?" He said in a teasing voice.

Now he's teasing me.

I just chuckled.

“I did not say that.” I answered smiling.

Yes, I like him.

But we're still in the process of it. We're still getting to know each other.

And I have to make sure he really is okay with a single mom.

Ivan assured me about that already, but still, it will affect his career to love someone who's divorced and had a child.

People will surely talk about it. They will say something about me, about Neil, and about Mc Ivan.

I know he will protect me, as well as my son, but it will be too much for him to handle.

He came from a decent family, and I don't think they will accept the fact that Ivan, loves someone like me.

Someone like me who had a child at a young age, got married, and divorced because my ex-husband cheated on me.

It's not a good image. It could break his reputation.

That's the least, I want. He doesn't deserve to be called names.

I still think, I don't deserve him. Not at all, been telling him that a million times already.

But knowing him, he's so persistent.

He insisted to me that he will wait, he can wait, and he will never get tired of waiting.

Until, I'm ready to be in a relationship again.

That he won't care about anything nor anyone.

He only cares about me and my son.

“Okay, I'll give him a chance. Only if I can be sure he will really take good care of you.” He said seriously again.

I smiled at my dear son.

“Will you please stop acting like a mature kid? You're still my baby, okay?” I said while messing up his hair.

“Don't touch my hair!” He said annoyingly.

I just chuckled at him.

“But Mom.” He whispered.

I look at him intently.

“Hmm?”

“What if, he's Serious Guy?” He asked.

My forehead creased when Neil asked me.

How come we're talking about Serious Guy now.

I know about him, since he's been the talk of the town.

He's always on the news.

That's why I always make sure Neil will go home early.

This town is not safe, knowing that Serious Guy is just around the corner.

“What makes you think like that?” Instead, I asked him.

“Because, I heard you guys talk last time, that he shared to you that they saw a green note in every victim's hand, right?” He said.

I just nodded as I wait for him to continue.

“The cheesedesal.” He said.

“There's always a green note with it, every time he left it without you.” He confessed.

I took a deep sighed and hold my son's hand.

“Neil, I know how much you hate him, but that's not a good idea. You shouldn't say it to anyone, okay? Let's leave it between us.” I said to him seriously.

He must hate Ivan so much, that he went thinking nonsense like this.

I don't want him to have a mindset like this.

It's not good.

“But Mom, there's still—

“Neil, this will be the last time we'll talk about this, okay?” I cleared things out to him.

“I don't want you to get involve with anything about that Serious Guy. Let the police officers do their job, okay? Just study well, play with your friends, and play with your dog. Did I make myself clear?” I seriously said to him.

And knowing my child, I know he understands me. Even if he protests, I know he will follow me. Because, he knows what I'm doing will always be for what's best for him.

“Neil, I need your answer.” I look at him when he didn't answer.

He rolled his eyes and took a deep sighed.

“Fine.” He gives up afterward.

“That's my boy.” I smiled at him as I caressed his face.
