Colt walked with Ruby to his car. The conversation was easy. Hell he had to admit the whole evening spent with her felt right.
His wolf begged him to give in and mark her. He calmed the beast promising he would.
The mate bond was calling him to Ruby, but he didn't want to rush her.
...........................
Ruby felt at ease with Colt he didn't make her feel uncomfortable. She was never the pretty popular girl in school. Ruby was the plain bookish type, but he had called her beautiful and she felt it; and the kiss...oh wow!
Ruby nibbled her bottom lip, "Are you going to be in town long?"
Colt was happily surprised when she asked. "I am." He turned his head, winked and told a half truth, "I have to talk with the alpha about some things."
He didn't have to talk to the alpha since Ruby wasn't a wolf, but since she was raised with in the pack he would out of respect.
...........................
Ruby blushed and remembered the alpha wanted to see her tomorrow, "The alpha asked to see me too..." she fiddled with her mother's bracelet as she tried to work up to asking Colt out, "Maybe after our meetings you would like to..."
Colt leaned over and kissed her. He claimed her mouth the way he wanted her body, "I would love too."
Ruby smiled and giggled, "It's a date then."
After a moment they were soon at Ruby's house. Colt promised to pick her up at ten o'clock.
Ruby got out and waved; giddy on the sensation. Colt wanted to howl at the moon as he drove off.

The man in the shadows watched as his prize got out of the car and went inside. Patience would pay off; it had too. 20 years he waited. He could wait a day or two more. He was nothing if not patient.
