Chapter Hundred and sixty six

Sunny lay in her bed that night wondering why she had brought that up, it was nothing. Even when she shut her eyes, the dream from last night flash through her eyes and she could only think of Rebecca.

Maybe a glass of orange juice would help, she groan as she got out of bed and made her way downstairs to the kitchen.

She was overthinking and that was not good for her, she have exams coming up and she had also volunteer one of her drawing to the Fair and she should focus on that only.

She poured out a drink for herself and was about to go up to her bedroom when she heard whispering in the living room without, curious to know who it was.

She made her way outside the kitchen and quickly made her way to the sitting room where he saw his father standing over his laptop and a cellphone on his eyes.

He was on a call, he was definitely working hard and also late, she made to turn away when he heard the name she dreaded so well.

"Rebecca" instead of turning away like she had planned to do, she pressed her eyes back to the wall. "I want her every move monitored until she's leaves the country"

Then instantly her father turned toward the door making her hide behind the wall immediately, Jeez! What if he was caught he's father wouldn't be so kind on her.

She kept her finger crossed hoping that wouldn't suspect that anybody was behind the door, she shut her eyes and monitor some prayers while holding her glass on wine tightly on one hand.

And after some seconds of waiting and hiding, she peeped back and saw that her father have gone back to his laptop without wanting to risks her presence any longer.

She slowly tiptoed back to her room, she didn't know that her father was super involved with Rebecca, she didn't know that their was more behind the scenes of her coming to see her.

Now she knows that her parents talk much about her and even have a lot of business going on with her that she didn't know, she was actually thinking that getting an orange juice would help put her to sleep and forget about all her worries but instead of that happening......

She found herself in the middle of all that chaos again, she found herself pacing around her room for half an hour before deciding to get to bed.

"You told Josh about my trip? Sunny asked Even though it was no more a question. "Well, someone have to tell him incase you didn't make it to the Fair".

"Oh, for goodness sake, it just a day trip is not as if I'm never coming back". "I didn't say you won't come back, did I?  "You're really getting on my nerves this days". "Look who only have nerves".

Jade bummed her shoulder jokily and the both burst out laughing "I think it high time you guys check in hospital" Gina said with a smile as he followed them down the hall.

"So when did you see him? Jade asked keeping pace with her. "Ummm, Sunny suddenly stopped and looked at both of them funnily before resuming her walk.

"Umm, what, you should let the cat out of the bag, it no big deal, so when did you see him? "Well, he normally comes by evening....like before I go to bed sometimes to talk".

"Inside your room? Gina asked with her hand clenched tightly on her bag. "No, not in my room, we always take a walk down the garden and sometimes made it outside the mansion"

"And you did not come to your knowledge that you'll tell us about it" "Of course it nothing Jade, I'm telling you". "we just walk and chat as friends". "Yeah, I know that" Jade giggled

"Whatever, you're such a noisy friend" Sunny growled and they both made their way to their classes.

"What do you mean by that! Tara asked furiously, she couldn't believe that this has been going on under her own roof. "And how long have this been going on?

"I don't know, I think it been a while now" Gina replied said sitting at her usual position as age watched the angry frown on her face.

She wanted her to go mad, that might be the only way she might take her revenge on her, she was one sided happy that Sunny was courageous enough to go against her.

She wanted her friend to do more till this woman shed out blood but also f are what might happen to Sunny next since she wasn't the kind hearted woman she pretends to be.

"I can't imagine she could do this! Tara felt like throwing more tantrum but decided to relax. "This won't happen on my watch ever again"

"And I hope you won't mention anything to anybody or else you'll have yourself to blame"

When she finally made it out of her office, she felt the same rage and anger she always feels whenever she walks out.

She bent over and tried to calm that rage from doing anything stupid, she knows that she wouldn't be able to bear the consequences.

And how long would she continue this, she found herself draining each visit. "Are you okay? She looked up and found a woman who looked at her with a concern expression.

"What do you care? She stood and made her way home, everything was fustrating her so badly and she wanted to get ride of it but.....it wasn't possible.

"Were you able to convince mum to come back home" Josh asked after trying the avoid asking his father the question since morning for fear of things not turning out well.

"Yes, sure, we had a nice dinner last night". "So is she coming home". Andrew nodded. "She is, we have finally resolved our issues" .

"So..... when is she coming home?  "She haven't said so, I think she still wanted a break". "But you just said that you both have resolved your issues why then would she still need a break".

"I think we should just give her a break son, I don't know but I'm letting her make the decision when she would come be home". "I don't want our family to turn out broken, it just scares the shit out the of me!

"I know that, Josh and trust me on this, she'll be back home" "You know I'm not a kid you could lie to" "Do you think I would lie to you" Josh shrugged and left him, he just hoped that he was right on this.

"You've talked Emily? John asked as they both sat drinking a glass of whiskey. "Yeah..... she wanted me to stay but I have to make her realize that their was no reason to be here, she wasn't happy about it but she have to accept it that way John, She have to"

She walked over to her and dropped a set of documents for her "I want you to fly with me to a meeting just for the last time".

John have invited her over to his house to make this request "Just this for the last time, I don't have more than a week to stay". "Despite that, I'm happy that you're granting me this wish".

Rebecca raised her glass toward him with a smile on her face before gulping down his drink. "I owe you a lot not just a favor" John chuckled as he watch her.

"You've really grown such a habit"  "Of drinking? Nah, I don't think so" she replied even though she knows clearly that this was becoming part of her.

Sunny kept herself buried with her drawing, she wanted her art to be one of the best. She tried to avoid overhearing any conversation from her parents that was better that way.

She shouldn't make herself worried unnecessary, she would just focus on her drawing till the trip and now it was already a day before going on a trip with his father.

She found herself worried even though she didn't know the exact reason for it and the past few days was filled with nightmare.

Sunny heard a knock on her door and looked up to find Tara standing by the door. "Hey, darling" Tara walked over to stand beside her.

"Hey mum, she looked back down to what she was drawing. "It looks beautiful". Tara commented watching the art but Sunny already know that something was wrong, she hadn't been up to her room for days now and.....

Their was definitely something wrong. "Is everything okay? Sunny asked turning to face her mother.

"Yeah sure, everything is fine, just want to ask you a question". "Sure mum" Tara smiled and sat on her bed and waited for long before asking.

"Is their anything you'll wish to discuss or talk to me about.....like something you're keeping away from me?  "Umm mmm, Sunny felt lost by that question, of course not, she would never dream of hurting her ever again.

"Of....of course not". "You're sure about it? "Yes mum, theirs nothing, I'm not keeping anything away from you, I don't want to hurt you again"

Tara face darken for some seconds Of course she was lying to her, she felt mad but instead smile and looked at her drawing.

"Are you lying to me? She asked giving her time to say whatever she wanted to say but Sunny shook her head.

She waited till Tara left her room before going blank, she was very confuse, she was sure she wasn't hiding anything from her.

"You looked worried? Jade asked her the next morning "Is it because the Fair, well everyone is preparing so well because of it". "I just wish it was because of that".

"Was that supposed to mean" Jade asked as the both walked into the class. "Is it because of our exam, we're preparing for our final examination abd then we'll be done with school. "That's not it Jade, I'm worried because of something else"

"What's that? But looked around to find that Jade isn't in the class. "I think theirs something wrong?  "Wrong where? Sunny asked looking in her direction.

"Haven't you noticed yet, Gina had been distance for quite sometimes now, I tried talking to her but she kept convincing me that it was nothing but I know something is definitely wrong".

"I noticed that too but she kept saying she's fine, if theirs anything bothering her, she already knows that she could relay on us".  "So what's wrong" Jade finally asked turning all her attention to Sunny.

"I don't know for some reason Tara thinks that I'm hiding something from her". "Hiding, how did you know what she's thinking? Jade wasn't taking this serious.

"She came to my room last night and ask me if I'm hiding anything from her? "Are you?  "No, I'm not, I can't do something that would definitely hurt her". "Did she knows about your little walk with Josh?

"Of course......that is not even a thing, it ....it nothing and....I did not even think of it but ..... I'm definitely sure it not it". "Are you sure because if you're not hiding anything from her it definitely must be this"

"Is not I'm telling you, it just like I'm going to meet a friend and age definitely knows about Josh so it might not be this". "I Hope you're sure about it". "I'm very sure and how did she find out that if it the problem?

"Maybe she saw you one night?  "I don't think that's it" Sunny turned to look around to check if Gina was in class but it turns out that she didn't make it to class, she hopes that she was fine.

After school, Jade escorted her to the school public telephone to make some call to Gina's parents.

And after few seconds of ringing, age heard someone come to the phone. "Good day Ma" she greeted as she found herself speaking with Gina's mum.

"I'm just calling to if everything is alright with Gina, she didn't make it to school today......" When she finally disconnected, Jade waited for her to fill her with the news.

"She isn't feeling fine, that's why she have to stay in today". Sunny informed as they made their way out of the school hallway. "we should visit her?

"Yes sure, I think that might be the reason she's been keeping away from us". "But that doesn't make any Sense, she knows that we're always here to help her why would she hide her sickness or else......

"Or else what? Sunny asked dragging Jade to a Stop. "Unless she's pregnant, can't you see? She had been acting really weird and now ..... she's sick".

"Don't say anything you're not sure of and I don't think she's pregnant". "Then we have to check for ourselves then" Sunny beckon as the made their way out.

"Gina! Gina!  "What Ma! She half yelled coming downstairs with her short and sleeveless top, she really wants to rest in and not have someone shouting get name.

"Your classmates called? Age dropped dead already knowing who it was. "Sunny called? But her mum shrugged "She called to know why you weren't in school and I told her you were not feeling fine"

"Ummm, yes I'm not feeling fine" she remembered the lie She told her mother, she had really wanted to stay home today and lying about her health was the only way to stay home.

"What do they say Ma? She asked being curious. "They were worried about their friend" "Sure they were" she nodded and made to walk upstairs.

"Have you taken you medication". "Yes I have! She lied running upstairs to avoid her mother's question.

She ran upstairs and buried her face on her bed, she was really feeling drain and had wanted to take the day off because facing both get friends this way wasn't at all a good plan.

She hit her hand on the bed, feeling the urge to shout and get away with this but their isn't any other way and fir the second time again she heard her mum screamed her name for the second time.

She just wanted to ignore her, it would be the best but she called again making her to growl aloud. She just needed to be left alone that's why she had lied to stay home.

She just wanted to lock herself up in a room and escape all her thought and worries, she sighed and dragged herself off from the bed and made her way downstairs again.

"Mum, please, I just......" She instantly became speechless as she stared at both her friends. She was happy and at the same time sad and angry but she wouldn't show them the angry side instead she walked up to them with a smile on her face.
