Prologue

Sporadically I feel like life isn't worth living, Waking every day to the same routine all over makes life so damn boring.

Others will be like” oh damn today was wonderful. It was remarkable, I wish it never ends" but, I haven't had a day like that.

Don't get me wrong my parents tries, but they are well *parents, they try to give me a comfortable life.

which I know they are trying their best*  but it's not the life I want to lead.

I want an adventurous life, I would like to have all those mind-blowing experiences I read about in novels.

I haven't had a person to call a friend, which isn't hard to believe if you have parents that relocate more than illegal immigrants.

They change jobs and locations faster than a teen changes his underwear.

I have lived in almost twelve places since my kindergarten, now you see why I don't have a lasting friend apart from Mr Kitty who has been with me through thick and thins.

Mr Kitty was my two years birthday present from my dad and so far, he has been my favourite.

Moving to this town in the middle of nowhere * I swear you won't find it on the map even if you tried*  I wished like I normally do whenever I move to a new town that I will experience a life-changing experience.

Little did I know fate is about to play a sick joke on me, one I might enjoy.

CHAPTER  1

“Honey, we are here!!!” my mom shouted enthusiastically as she opened the passenger door for me *my parents always do that for me, they don't allow me to open a door in their presence.*

“You weren't born to serve, you were born to be served” that's what they normally say.

I looked around as I stepped out of the car, the house isn't bad, but it's not as grand as our last one with its large double doors, patio and swimming pool.

The new house is a brownstone structure two-story mansion with a garden by the right, a garden I will love to get lost in, with my books, of course.

“Honey stop gawking, the exterior isn't quite as attractive as the interior *my mom strongly believes that outward beauty is a facade that fades with time, but the inner one comes from the heart which grows young as the day goes by* the main attraction is inside,” my mom gushed as she climbed the stairs.

I will give her credit, the interior is far better than the exterior, the walls were painted a deep red colour, *which might I add is one of my favourite colours* the parlour had a gigantic chandelier hanging from its roof, a twelve inches plasma television hung proudly on the wall as if it's the King of the Galaxy, cozy love seats and don't forget the cushions, they match the decor?

“Come, come” my mom motioned to me as she took the stairs two at a time, obviously excited to show me my room, one she bragged about our whole journey here, and I will be thoroughly disappointed if it didn't meet my expectations.

My mom stood near a door * which, I assume, is my room* waiting for me to reach.

“Ta-da!!!!!!”. She opened the door and_

A gasp left me as I entered to inspect the room more, the complete decor was wow, the room was painted dark blue, * just the way I love it* a big king-sized bed took residence at the far end of the room, my books have been arranged in the mini library at the right corner of the room * my room.

A desk and a dressing table took residence in the small space the library allowed, the left side of the room was devoid of anything except two doors which were * when I checked* a bathroom and a closet.

“Mom, this is astonishing, I thought you can't outdo yourself, but you did.”

My mom blushed like a kid who was caught with her hand in a cookie jar.

“It's nothing” she waved me off didn't take more of my time to plan this like I did the last one and am truly happy you love it, well, I will leave you to get accustomed to your room, while I go prepare lunch”

“No prob mom” I tried to imitate those cool guys I watch on television.

*

I took a much-needed nap since my mom has already unpacked my belongings except for my pictures, I love that woman like crazy but don't tell her that, it will only get to her head, I don't need her walking with an oversized head filled with unrestrained ego.

I hung the pictures on the wall, pictures I bought last two summers when I turned sixteen, my favourite pic is the one with three werewolves, am not an animal kind of guy *hell, I'm even afraid of fowls and small creeping insects talk more of a huge wolf* but I found myself entranced with the picture and since I bought it, I can't get myself to get rid of it, it's like my soul calls out to it or the other way around, I don't know, all I know is that I love it and that's final.

Would have called Stanley to let him know I have reached safely, I stopped myself before I can dial it when I recalled him telling me in explicit detail that he doesn't want a long-distance relationship *well friendship in his case* which hurts my heart bad, it still does.

Joking. Stan is my imaginary boyfriend who I had a falling out with when he asked me to get rid of Mr Kitty, I will do anything for him but not that.

“Darling. Lunch is ready, I know you don't want your daddy to finish the burritos I specially made for you” mom said from downstairs, making me hurry to complete my task.

That woman sure knows how to keep a person on his toes.

*

“How was the interview?” my dad didn't arrive with us at the new house like he was supposed to because he had an early morning interview and couldn't make it on time.

“It was outstanding, well *as awesome as a job interview can be.

What do you think of the house, son?” Dad asked as he took a bite, from experience I knew if my dad gets a whiff that I don't like this house, he will relocate us to “a more comfortable place.”

His words, not mine.

“It's outstanding dad, mom outdid herself in this one” I winked at my blushing mom, if people receive a penny each time they blush, then my mom would have been a billionaire by now.

“It's nothing dear” although my mom tried to act nonchalantly, we all know she loves the praises she is receiving, but she pretends otherwise” I didn't even put too much effort into it”

“I know it was a lot of effort if I got to massage you every night, and must I add I enjoyed every minute of it” my dad gave my mom a suggestive wink?

I gagged at their blatant love display.

I love my parents, but I don't need to know what goes on behind their bedroom's closed doors.

“Guys tune it down a bit, a kid is here” I rush to finish my meal.

“I am going out for a walk and you two better workouts your energy, I don't need a lovey-dovey atmosphere during dinner, one for lunch is enough *more than enough if I may add” I winked at my mom who tried to shush my laughing dad.

I dumped the plate on the sink, the lovebirds will take care of it when they are through with their bedroom workout.

I left the comfort of our building for the park I noticed when we drove past, am always a sucker for nature, I can get lost in a fantasy world, music world or science world in this park and won't blink an eyelash if the whole world is destroyed, I might even die with my nose buried in a book.

Sporadically, I envision the sign that will be on my tombstone when I die,

GOT LOST IN A STORY AND NEVER RETURNED

I laughed, absurd thought.

“What's so funny??” a silky voice said, startling me from my thoughts.

I turned with the intent of giving the intruder a tongue lashing of his life, but my words got stuck in my throat.

Holy sugar, the man is a real-life Adonis, a modern one at that.

His blonde hair was gelled back giving him a lazy model look, his strong jaw accentuated his face, his nose is just perfect, his lips so pink girls will kill just to have it and blue eyes so dark you might mistake them for black.

My eyes trailed downwards and meh his abs are just to die for, I swallowed my throat haven gone patchy all of a sudden.

They were gotten from hard labour, not the gym.

Mentally, I looked down at my lean body that months in a gym couldn't give me muscles.

My mom always jokes that I got all her feminine genes and part except my masculine organ that I got from my dad, she strongly believes my gender was altered.

*Leans down and whispers* I have a secret which I want you to take to your grave, pinky promise??? Okay, I have small perky breasts, which is the reason I always wear oversize clothes except at home where I'm not judged.

For those who are saying

“Does it matter??” yes, it does. Thank you very much, I tried to wear fitted clothing during my junior year and the experience isn't what I will want to repeat.

Well, my old self would have been jealous, but the new me is a confident moron who won't let anyone put him down cos his amazing.

“Like what you see?” he flexed his abs, that smug look still on his face.

How dare him??? Well, as I said, I won't let anyone put me down, not even this hot piece of bacon.

“Like what you see?” I scoffed, “What's there to see?? I've seen far better than you, and you dear, doesn't cut a where they are concerned”

He growled, which was so animalistic I nearly took to my heels, nearly_, but I didn't, I rather face him head-on without an ounce of fear and I know bullies like him get off on other's fear.

“Woo-hoo bros, I didn't mean to stamp on your….”

Someone chuckled,

“Never thought I will see the

day, a player like Daniel getting jealous about guys he doesn't know” he whistled.

I turned to face the intruder, who happens to bear a resemblance to arsewipe boy,

'Are you guys....?” I let the question hang in the air.

“Triplets,” the smiling one said.
