Miguel's POV
"Don't be so sure about that." We heard Bulky say as he blocked our path to escape.
Turning to flee back to where we were coming from, we discovered we're all surrounded (a movie friends).
Mond looked ready to kill as he barred his teeth at the approaching men.
A low animalistic growl emenating from throat.
"Don't shift. The Alpha won't like it if our cover I exposed." Bulky warned as he took a step towards us.
Mond stood his ground with me at his back.
"There's no where for you to run to." Bulky taunted as he walked towards us. "Great job Mond for bringing him right to our camp." He clapped an angry looking Mond on the back.Ilooked at Bulky and back at Mond.
How did they know each other?
I wondered.
"I wasn't bringing him to our camp. I was taking him home." Mond retorted.
Wasn't taking me back to the camp?
Which camp?
Oh I recall him talking about his camping trip.
Is Bulky among the campers?
If not how did they know each other?
" It's no use pretending anymore, although I must confess, we really enjoyed the show you put on for us.
You made him trust you totally to the extent he told you his life story. I must commend you on your cuunny ways, well done boy." He laughed humorlessly.
Taking few steps back I glared at Mond.
My hunch was right about Mond.
I never for once stopped to think on the fact of how Mond happened to be in the forest right when I disappeared and the food he was cooking.
Thinking of it made me realize we took nothing from his so-called makeshift camp.
The situation made me unconscious of the fact that it wasn't possible for him to be in the middle of nowhere, and also the fact that he happened to know the route to Haji town despite the fact he got lost in the first place.
"You tricked me into trusting you.
I thought we were friends.
Guess I was the only one with friendship in mind.
while you were all along planning on taking me to the same people I was running away from." my heart was bitter.
the saying "the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know." is totally true.
" Well done mister, you played your part well, you played me for a fool. It would be better for an enemy to stab me than for a person I considered a friend to betray me. You're worse than the devil." I spat out.
He shook his head as he gave me a pleading look.
"Please believe me, I didn't mean for it to_"
I didn't allow him complete his words.
" like you didn't mean to coy me? Like you weren't taking me directly to the wolf den? Like you weren't planning all along I betraying me?"
How could I have been blinded into trusting them.
Bulky looked at the exchange with a smirk.
"Boy, I must say you played a smart card with me, you managed to slip out right from under my nose. A stupid move on your path." He laughed mirthlesssly " now you're back right where you started."
He motioned to shorty "take him to one of the holding cells. Don't allow him out even if he tells you he wants to urinate, that's his escape tactics. If he wants to urinate, let him urinate on his body.
If he wants to defecate, let him do so inside. That's his time killing tactics.
"Let me go!" I struggled on the tight grip shorty had on me.
I tried to kick him, but he side stepped me.
"Let himim go this instant!" Mond shouted "this wasnt what i was promised."
"stop pretending to care. if you had cared enough for me this wouldn't have happened."
I narrowed my eyes at him "moreover I don't need your help, I rather rut in prison than enlist your help, you back stabbing dude."
" Please believe me. I didn't mean for this to happen." He pleaded.
Bulky tutned towards shorty " what are you still waiting for? take him to the tent and don't forget about his tricks I warned you about earlier. Be wise with this one, he's as cunning as a fox.
Nomatter what he does or says, don't allow him to leave the tenth. If he escapes this time, only you will bear the brunt of the Alpha's anger." He warned.
If not for the situation am in, I would have smirked at that.
guess am too dangerous for my kidnappers.
I will be a case study for their generations to come.
"A boy named Miguel was more cunning than us the revered kidnappers, he managed to slip right from under our noses.
Unluckily for him, we had a cunning tortoise in our mist. Mond deceived the cunning fox and brought him back where he started from without the fox aware he's being betrayed by the serpent.
The fox trusted the serpent a lot with his life, but the serpent wasn't as trustworthy as the fox thought.
The fox later escaped with the serpent on a leash and till today we've not seen him, we're still searching for him, wherever he mighy be." The story teller will conclude his suspenseful story and the younger ones will awe and aww at his tale.
"What happened to the fox, papa?" The younger ones will ask.
"we don't know. No one knows if he really reached his destination, if he died on the way or if the serpent laid waste to him, but it's advised that no child should enter the forest without an adult for guidance an protection."
The little ones will cower in fear of the great legendary me!.
I felt a slap on my face "you're a prisoner, you aren't supposed to smile, you're expected to cower like a rat as prisoners are known to do."
He hoisted me up and threw me inside a very dark tent.
