Chapter 37

Donald's Pov

Daniel made a shooing motion "go on, get done with the job, our mate needs you."  he relaxed on the wall.

"I guess it's our cue to move forward, no?" Damien asked.

nodding, I followed him as we walked into the spacious building.

Alpha Dess have always loved opulence, his styles rivals those of the other Alphas.

We walked into the maze called a house.

it seems the more we walk the more we're lost.

We walked till we grew tired.

I sighed in frustration "this house looks small on the outside, why does the inside seem bigger than the outside?"

I can swear on my favourite thing in the whole world, this house seems to be expanding the more we walk.

" It's peculiar when you come to think of it, this house shouldn't house this many rooms." he  walked towards one of the rooms in question " let's open them and see what lies beyond them."

He opened the room nearest to our left, the room was vitually empty. It doesn't look lived in, instead it looks more like a newly installed room. This building is too old to have a new looking unlived room.

We opened three more doors and it was still the same, each of the room was as if the were completed today.

"This is s strange. Something isn't Right. " I took a step back, looking at each door closely. The doors bears an uncanny resemblance to each other, the look alike.

I walked back three steps and it was still the same.

what could this thing be? how possible is this?

"Let's walked a bit farther up, who knows if we're almost at our destination","Damien said as he walked farther up.

I followed him, the more we walked the more it seems we aren't making a dent in our walk.

"Damien something is wrong somewhere, this isn't normal," I  stopped him "we've been walking for over thirty minutes and yet we aren't close to our destination, something must be wrong here."

It has to be, for this to be happening something must have caused it.

I looked forward seeing the same door we say when we started this journey to hell.

The door was in front, not on the side like the other doors, a few pace separated it from three doors in front of us.

Taking three steps forward will not only leave me farther from the door in front, but past ten more doors instead of the initial three.

The doors all make you think you're finally to your destination, but when you walk forward it seems you're taking more steps backwards than you're taking forward.

It seems like an.....

"Damien, stop" I held him on his wrist.

"This isn't right, this an illusion. Look,"  I pointed at the similar doors and the door at the front "the more we walk, the more farther the door is, whenever we stop the door becomes nearer. This can only be an illusion."

I can't believe I never thought of that before.

I guess I never did because I've not seen a person who has it in their home.

"How do we go about it?

we've found the problem, but we have no solution?"  Damien face palmed "we're in more problem than we were outside."

I walked back three paces and front three paces. there must be something we failed to see, an obvious thing we overlooked.

Even the queen of illusion makes mistake all the time, no matter how dangerous , scary and life threatening an illusion is, it has a loop hole. The all do.

"Let's walk forward, who knows if we will find our way out," Damien looked hopeful.

I shook my head " it doesn't happen that way, the illusion is clearly for forward ever forward never. It's the more you walk, the less ground you cover."

I touched a door "there must be a way out, games have cheats, why won't this one have it?"

Damien grunted under his breathe, slumping to the floor, he covered his face with his palm.

"We need to save him before it's too late, who knows what that old fool is doing to him,"  his voice broke.

Damien can pretend all he likes about not needing a mate, but we know it isn't true.

I mistakenly pressed a part in the walls as I was casually leaning on the wall, the wall parted and a door appeared.

"What in the goddess's name is this?"  Damien made to enter, but I stopped him.

" Who knows what lies behind this door, it might be another trick, in case their captives decides to escape.

You can't trust anything in this strange house,"  I cautiously opened the door.

Peeping in, we saw no one there, the coast must be clear.

We entered the room and closed the door behind us .

the moment the door clicked shut, an unearthly figure appeared.

My heart would have missed a beat if my heart wasn't already pounding from exertion.

The creature in front of me is an abomination, the kind of beasts that were cursed for all eternity.

It has the head of a man,the horns of a beast, the horns curved at the tip, each looking directly at the other.

His nose was replaced by a pig's snout, his eyes were red it was almost like real blood.

His body was like a beast's but with a different way, it seems his body was willed to stand like a man, instead of on it's fours like the beast he is.

His waggling tail was a real life serpent, the snake's tongue was out.

If I didn't know better I would have thought the snake was panting from exhaustion.

The claws were as sharp as a recently filed knife, it's fangs was sharper than vampires.

Damien whistled "what in the goddess's earth is this?" he took steps back towards the door, but the door that was there initially was no where to be found.
