Chapter 90

Miguel's pov

"You look like you need a hug," Manuel  said when he sat beside me outside the school gate.

Today I manged to expertly loose Bianca.

She was talking about following me home today, but I can't have her with me after all the trouble she gives me in school.

"Should that be the case, why will it be of any concern to you?" I curiously looked at him.

He shrugs "I hate seeing cute boys like you so sad, it makes me want to take you into my arms and hug the hell out of you."

I laugh " you're one butt case aren't you?" 

He looks thoughtful for a moment "I've been told that countless of times,"  he smile "  so what are you doing now? are you going home or....."

Am actually on my way home, but the thought of mom and her new ways of tormenting me is enough to wish to be anywhere other than near her.

"Any place you have in mind? am free,"  I shrug, while trying not to dwell on Bianca's warnings about him.

"Superb!" he smiles "let's go,"  he stands and helps me up.

"Are you sure I made the right decision in blindly following you here?" I ask, not for the first time since I followed him here.

"Relax, you will love what I have planned out," he gives me a secretive smile.

"I hope I don't regret this," I  murmur as we walked deeper into the forest.

I guess I haven't learnt my lessons from why happened to me that last time.

"You won't," he reassures me as he have been doing since I started voicing out my fears.

"We're here" he removes a tree branch as he helps me to fully walk in.

" Oh My God!" I  gasped in awe of the place " here is magical." 

"I told you you will love it,"  he have a smug tune to his voice.

"I can't believe we've been climbing up all the while," I looked around "I thought we were walking on level ground."

From our position up here, you can see the entire part of the town even as far as the border.

"I can even see my house!" I excitedly points to my house "I won't be surprised if mom comes out now."

" Sit" Manuel instructs as he spreads the blanket on the floor.

" This is my far the best place I've been in this town so far."

I looked in awe as the rays of the sun makes everything more brighter and beautiful.

 "Didn't I promise to take you somewhere nice?"  he gives me a smug look " am an expert in all things nice." 

We stayed there till the sun set, and boy must I comment the setting is far more beautiful than it was when the sun was still on its horizons.

It was so fun mesmerizing and breathtaking.

" Thank you for this amazing day.  I had a nice time here,"  I smiled at him.

" Will that make what am about to ask possible? ", he have a hopeful expression on his face.

" What will that be? it depends," 

"will you go on a date with me? a real one." 

I laughed "are  you serious?" I looked to see if he's in any way joking but the look he have in his face is as serious as it was when he brought me here.

"You're not kidding?" I give him a look of disbelief.

"I seriously want to go on a date with you Miguel, will you allow me to treat you to one?"

I would have given in if I have met the three males who now have my heart in their large hands( oh how much I love it).

"Am sorry, I can't date you. Am dating your cousins,"  he should have known that by now right?

"Dating them doesn't mean you're married to them Miguel,"  he takes my hand in his " I will treat you like you deserves to be treated, I will take care of you more than they will. I will cherish you."

I remove my hand from his " the heart wants who it wants Manuel, I can't bear being with anyone other than them.

 Today was awesome, but I will like to keep it the way it is."

I look around the almost dark forest, now wishing I didn't foolishly follow him here without anyone knowing of my whereabouts.

" The heart can be thought to love another if it wants," he takes my hand " allow me to show you what you're missing. Allow me to treat you like the Luna you are, like the priceless jewel you are." 

" Please take me back, I don't want to be here anymore."

Truth be told, am getting more afraid of being here with him.

What if he tries something funny and untoward? 

" I will take you back,"  he nods " but I won't promise to stop my pursuit of you. I will give chase, and when I do, I will catch you despite where you might run into," he says before he takes my hand in his " let's go."

I don't think I took a good breathe of relieve until I saw the school building; the sight alone making me exhale in undisguised relief.

"Do I scare you that much?" he looks hurt as he asked the question,

" You don't scare me," I  try to sound confident and bold while am a quivering mess inside. 

"Good,"  he nods "I wouldn't want my future boyfriend to be afraid of me," he pecks me on the forehead before he turns to walk back into the forest we came out from.

"Bianca is near here. I don't want her to see me here,"  he says when he saw the confused look on my face.

"See you tomorrow Miguel" he blows a kiss towards me before he got swallowed by the darkness of the forest around him

Manuel is one odd human, he acts more peculiar than any I've met; his oddness making him strangely unique ( does that make sense?).
