Chapter 155 My Backbone
The moment he breathed his last, thunder struck and rain began to fall. Within seconds we were all drenched, standing up from the grass was not for me,I stayed put and continued to stare at the Lord's lifeless body. It took me century to fulfill my destiny and now that it's over,I don't understand how I am feeling. I felt he could he have lived if he wanted to but he chose to be a tyrant to the people who he was supposed to lead.
Chris squatted to my level and pulled me into a hug,it was calming.
"Thanks so much for this. You might not understand what this means but the people are going to live free from fear from now onwards"
He said. We stayed like that not minding the rain. I looked up to see Xylie and Jack smiling down at me,their joy was such much that I could see it from the expressions on their faces. I Know that's how many are smiling at the moment.
It's definitely over and Chris could sit on the throne of his father's. I know Chris was not after the throne,if not because lives of many were at stake,he would have leave the throne for his uncle to continue reigning.
We have had enough rain on our body,if not for me for others. Let's get them warmed up and heal their wounds because I could see they injured severely.
Going back to Beverly will not be safe because the coverage protecting the witches has been lifted so it's no longer safe to be a witch among humans.
I never got the chance to say goodbye to the place and to my boss too. But no how I will find away to go to Beverly but for now let's get everything in check.
We broke the hug and I smiled at him. Damn!I missed this guy and I am craving for him so much, thinking of how good it could be to make out under the rain brought so much redness on my face.
He smirked and whispered
"Hold on for while and I will see to your needs"
I blushed some more and hit him playfully on his chest.
"Don't be so shameless,what need are you talking about?"
I hissed and tried to stand up but he pulled me down and I whimpered, what the heck?
"Do you need me to show you huh?"
He said and nibbled on my earlope.
"No way,thanks but no thanks. I understand you now"
I said and stood up with a great speed,he chuckled and stood up as well. I found the duo smiling and I wondered why they are doing so.
The rain is much so we will have to come back to take care of the grave. It's time to leave here,I don't know if the Lord's remain will be left here but whatever that becomes of his remains,he deserves it.
I took a deep breath with Chris gripping my hands and next second we found ourselves at the throne chamber. I was surprised to see Tiana,Nora and mom sitting comfortably beaming with smiles.
The atmosphere was lively, it was not like what it should to be around here.
Mom stood up and walked to me, enveloping me in her arms.
"You did it baby girl,we are so proud of you"
"Thanks Mom,I could not have done it without you guys,you guys are my backbone."
I said and smiled. The journey has been a tough one,it was not up to a week I found out who I am and the battle was even over. These six days has been one hell of days and I don't pray to have such days ever again.
The war is over but our lives are not over,it's just began because ruling these great people will take all we have to give. To rule others is not easy,I pray that it will not be a great task for my mate. But I will so support him in this journey and we will see to the end of it.
I pulled away from the hug and made to leave the room when Nora walk to me.
"Where do you think you are going?"
She asked and I creased my brows,what does she mean by that?
"Don't look at me like that,I can't believe you are angry at me for no reason"
She said and I wondered why she has to assume that.
"Nora,I felt you need time alone. I have observed you for long and you have not been yourself. The reason I am leaving here is because I need to go and attend to Xylie and Jack and maybe later,you and I have alot to talk about. You owe me an explanation."
I said and walked away leaving Chris and the others at the throne chamber.
