Chapter 358 Shame Is Greater Than Pain

   I sense bitterness from the way mom talked, she is angry and anyone will be. It's a pity that some species will never learn.

  "Mom you don't have to get yourself worked up because of those senseless fools"

I said rubbing her shoulders which calmed her down.

 "I am angry because white and Black witches are sisters but the black witches have become so foolish that they forgot their origin thereby misbehaving and bringing shames opon the witch race. Other races would not blame the black witches for their foolishness but the entire witch race. We bear the shame of their sins and that has always given them the morale to continue perpetrating evil."

   Mom was right anyway, from the history of the witch race, the black witches has been the architect of our problems. The name *BLACK* has affected them so much that they failed to reason with their brains but rather reasoned through their shit holes.

   Xylie sighed and spoke up for the first time in five minutes.

   "I don't understand why we have to be bothered about this. The last time I checked, it is the black witches problem not ours, if what Rosie did is going to have a bad effect in future, the black witches will suffer it. You know this as much as I do"

  "Xylie, you are guy and you will not understand mom's anger. In as much as the black witchs will bear the consequences, it is still the shame of the whole witch race. And you know what, shame is greater than pain, I hope you understood what I meant by that."

   I explained to him and stood up and left for the kitchen. I was thirsty. Arguing about who is to bear the shame and who is not to bear the shame was dehydrating me.

Ben's point of view......

   Throught  the ride to Nora's apartment, she was quiet and in deep thought, once in a while, I will squeeze her hand to give her assurance that we are in this together and she will smile in return.

   I drove into her apartment driveway and killed the engine, she got down before me and waited for me to get to her and when I got to her, I took your hands and we walked towards her apartment. Her next door neighbour mounted at her sitout as usual hoovering like the monitoring spirit she is.

  Nora only smiled at her with nothing else. I am sure she was tired of the neighbor. I did not spare her a glance. She was not worth my attention. Everytime I see her, I feel like squeezing her life out of her body. She has done nothing wrong to me, I just don't like her.

  Nora opened her door and we walked in to meet Jeff sitting comfortably in the couch.

  He smirked at me and waved at Nora who stared at him lost.

  "Jeff, I thought you are gone what are you doing here?"

Nora questioned him and he shrugged off his shoulders.

   "Well I was bored and I remembered that your neighbour invited you for a party tonight and I was thinking if I could rock the party with you. I hope they would not mind a little kid in an adult party?"

With what he said and I knowing the kind of a kid Jeff can be, I realise that tonight's party is going to be a disaster and that would serve Nora's neighbor right. For the first time, I agreed with him. Forget he is my mantle of coverage, he will always be that naughty kid who looks for my trouble.

  Nora creased her brows at him and she wanted to object but I spoke up before she did.

  "Of course Jeff that will be so good, it is a great idea. we all are going to the party tonight."

  Jeff who knew I was going to say yes grinned at me laughing with his eyes. I felt like beating the little boy in him.

Nora did not expect me to say yes, turned sharply at me and I gave her a questionable look.

  She shook her head and then left.

  "It looks like our mate is angry with you not me"

Jeff said and smirked further. He jumped down from the couch and followed Nora leaving me behind.

   I needed not to be told that I had to follow them too, so I followed the duo to see how we going to prepare for tonight's party and because of Jeff, I was looking forward to the party.

   I am sorry guys that the updates came late today, I was a bit down. Please bear with me and the reason I am posting two updates instead of three is that I have got some many books I am working on at the same time.
