"Mom, don't be silly, I understand. I woke up this morning and I realized that you did everything for my own good. You sacrificed a lot for me. It's not easy to dedicate one's life protecting another but you did it and forever I will cherish you. Mom, I am not trading you for anyone, you are forever my mom. The other woman might have given birth to me but you nurtured me right from the moment I was born so therefore you are number one in my life. Don't you ever think now that I have found out that you did not give birth to me, you will not cease to be my mom unless you don't want to but as long as you want to, you remain my mom and I remain your daughter. We have got ourselves and that's all that matters"
I told her and smiled at her.
She pulled me to herself and hugged me tight.
"For a second I thought I had lost you. Thanks so much dear, I love you forever"
"I love too, mom"
Okay that's all for now, we will spend a lot of time catching up later. That's; You get to know your grandparents and your parents more.
"We had something to do and we have to do it now. We don't have time, I don't know if you have been briefed a little about the black Witch who wants to destroy all of us all, she is coming back but we won't give her time to come back. This is the only time we have got to destroy her and you have to do it now"
She said as a matter of urgency.
"So what am I to do?"
I had no time to start asking if it is I that is supposed to do it.
"Well the reason why she couldn't die when the witch princess's brother killed her was because she was still having a connection with Theophilus"
Mom said and I was surprised, the queen has a brother? Of Course I am not supposed to be shocked, there are a whole lot I don't know yet.
"So how am I supposed to break the connection"
"You break the connection through the necklace you are wearing and we are going to do it now so sit down
I sat down with no question.
"Had it been that the necklace got to her, she would be unstoppable."
Mom said and sat down.
"Pulled the necklace from your neck"
She commanded and I raised my brows at her,
"The necklace can't come off, I have tried it before"
"Try again, it will"
I did as she said and the necklace came off.
I handed it to her but she asked me to hold it.
She brought out a container from her dress. She was dressed as I am, only that her dress has a pocket. I did not take notice of what she was wearing before.
"While I mutter the spell of destruction, you pour the potion on top of the necklace. It is meant to dissolve the necklace and as the necklace dissolves so will the black witch dissolve. Do you understand me?"
"I do, mom"
I replied.
"Good, your past life, you knew that a time like this would come, that's why you had the necklace buried. The black witch has searched for it for over years and couldn't find it because she knew that the necklace would be the end of her. But when she found out that the reincarnation of Livrus will be given the necklace, she decided to impose as the bride. The necklace could do two things, it could destroy her by you or it would give her unlimited powers if she ever laid her hands on it so you see why we have to do this."
"I understand mom, I am ready"
She handed the container to me after she opened the cap and crossed her legs then closed her eyes.
"Be attentive and don't be distracted"
"Alright Mom"
With that she began saying something under her breath and I began pouring the liquid inside the container on the necklace in front of me, any part that the liquid touched would dissolve.
The Black lady I saw few days back appeared with a murderous look. If looks can kill, I might be dead by now. When she realized what was happening, she became confused and started vanishing from her legs. By the time all parts of the necklace had dissolved, she was nowhere to be found.
Mom stopped and opened her eyes then smiled.
"Ignorance is indeed a disease. We did it sweetheart, the South is free from her clutches."
"Mom just like that"
"Yes dear, just like that. We had fought this war for years without succeeding. We did not know that the ancient necklace was the only solution. I am glad that we found out at last. If not, I can't imagine what would have happened. She is gone now, gone for good.
