Chapter 131

I got to the hotel few minutes later and i was pretty surprised to see all of them sitting in the reception and as usual they all rushed to embrace me, they were full of joy to see me once more and after hugging each other, I decided to book a hotel room so that we could discuss and i also ordered some delicious and tasty food along with three champagnes and one bottle of Hennessy. I have to celebrate before i break the news to them, "It's been long while since she last saw each other like this, hope you brought some goodies from Nigeria" Micheal teased and this time, they came without Lucy because she's in school right now where she ought to be learning new things. "Yes i have great news for all of you but first let's wait for the food, we must eat and make merry before i break this good news to you guys because it's just too awesome" i said with a joyous tone.

    We all waited patiently and the waiter brought the food to our room alongside with the drinks i ordered and just like released lions, we devoured the food without leaving any crumbs on the plate but when it got to the assorted wines, i told them to wait and we all drank water first before we opened the wine and poured it's content into our cups as i raised my cup for a toast. "Now that we are all here, i think it's high time i break the good news to you all before we drink the content in this glass" i said 

"Go on bro, we are all waiting for the good news to escape from your mouth" Alexia replied with a smile as she held her glass like a princess, "well, it will interest you all that my days of being single is over and now i wish to announce to you all that I'm getting married tomorrow" i said. The look on their face was priceless and they all screamed my name with joy as if they had seen an a ghost but i knew it was part of their happiness, "this is amazing, and you never told us you have found a new lady, you kept this one from us" Kelvin said.

    I didn't want to inform them about my relationship with Elena because it sounds uncalled for and that will not be the right thing to do, "oh I'm sorry about that but like i said, I'm getting married to the mother of my future kids, the woman who will make me smile for the rest of my life, i can't wait for tomorrow" i said looking so happy. "Then this is a great news indeed, let us make a toast to our brother and friend, Andrew" Gabriel said and raised his glass up as we made a toast.

We kept on drinking so much due to the sweet sensation and joyful moment but i had to restrict myself from consuming too much alcohol because I'm the one who is going to drive myself back home and i won't be able to do that if I'm drunk. "So who is the lucky girl that stole your heart, I'm pretty sure she is a Nigerian girl" Gabriel asked looking a bit curious and the looks on their faces made me realize that they were dying to know the girl I'm getting married to. "She is not a Nigerian girl, she was born here and that makes her an American citizen" i replied.

   I narrated the story of my previous girlfriends to all of them and how i finally went to my parents to seek for their advice on the type of lady to marry, they were shocked beyond words when i revealed to them that i will be getting married to a lady who once worked as a maid in my father's house, "this world is indeed a small and beautiful place, who would have thought that you would ever get married to such a lady and I'm pretty sure the lady would have denied or probably cured the person who would have told her that she would one day end up under the care of a rich and handsome man" Alexia said 

They all expressed their different points of view and i was immensely pleased with what they all said, "so what time is the wedding taking place tomorrow?" Kelvin asked. "You aren't going to come as a guest, you are going to be there with me live and direct because you will be my best man" I replied and this made me smile a little. "That would be okay, seems I and Gabriel will have to do the job of a best man since Micheal here is already married" he said, "and who said a married man can't be a best man to his best friend, I'm going to be there with you bro so when are we coming?" Micheal asked with a smiley face

   I was indeed very glad to know that my friends will always stand by me at certain points in my life, and i hope to make them proud one day, "you guys can come to my father's house by 6AM in the morning because the wedding will start by 9AM sharp so we have to be early" i replied. They all hugged me once more and Alexia couldn't help but stare at us with a lovely smile on her face, seeing us being so close to each other despite our distance is something to adore and respect. 

We streamed some songs ranging from Bella Ciao to other celebration songs and we danced with joy because tomorrow is going to be the biggest event of my entire life and i can't wait for it to happen, "very soon we will be invited for your child's naming ceremony and by then, i will fully welcome you to the parent hood life" Micheal teased while Alexia gave me a hug before we left the hotel looking so happy

   I went back home with a joyful heart, knowing that my friends are going to be at my wedding ceremony tomorrow and when i got home later that day, I took a short nap and woke up around 10PM in the night, I picked up my phone and dialed Elena's number and she picked up immediately, "How are you doing dear, tomorrow is the big day" i said looking so happy. "Yes, can't wait for us to be united as husband and wife, i can't even sleep right now because I'm just so happy" she said 

"Yes, hope everything is all set in your side?" i asked just to be sure because i can't afford for anything to go wrong tomorrow, it will be a disaster because so many people are coming, big business moguls and different CEO's will be there and they are waiting to get their eyes filled with the turn out of tomorrow's event. "Everything is ready and my mother is more than prepared for the event" she replied and this made me smile a bit.

   We discussed for a while before i walked down to the kitchen to grab a bottle of milk from the freezer, "aren't you suppose to be sleeping by now?" a voice called out to me from the living room and when i turned around, it was my mother. "I'm tired of sleeping, i have had enough sleep for today" I replied, "seems you are just so restless because of the big event tomorrow, i have been in your shoes once and i know how it feels" she said. "i just can't wait to see how things will turn up tomorrow, it's like a dream come true but where is dad?" i asked when i noticed she was the only one in the living room

"Your father is sleeping, he doesn't feel too good, the cancer is taking most of his strength and he is gradually going weak by the day" she replied and her mood changed immediately, i held her hands while staring directly into her eyes, "i will make him proud and happy even if these are his last days, we are already half way close to making his last request a reality and in few months time, he will hear the cry of a new born baby" i replied while trying to lighten up her mood.

   "You speak with so much confident as if you have already gotten a girl pregnant or is there something you are not telling me?" she asked while leaning closer, my mom is one kind of person that tries to use her sweet words to make you say the deepest secrets you have locked up in your soul but there are times when she acts like a lioness and tries to force them out you with everything she has. "mmmmm, there is nothing actually so you don't need to worry" i replied

She gave me this weird which made me realize that she doesn't believe anything i just said, "just tell me the truth and i promise no other person will hear it" she said and this made me burst into laughter because she will literally do the opposite of what she just said, once i mention anything to her, it will get to my father's ears and that's how it will keep circulating till i hear it again. "Something tells me that you have already had sex with Elena and you don't just want to talk about it" she said, i simply gave her a kiss on the cheek and went to my room to catch some sleep after drinking one bottle of milk

Eight hours later...

I woke up looking so happy to the extent that the first thing I did was to call Elena and ask her if she slept well but she didn't pick up so i had to keep trying her number till someone picked up the call and informed me that she is getting prepared for the event. I quickly took my bath and when i went into my wardrobe to get my suit, i heard a loud knock on the door.

  I opened it and was quite surprised to see Gabriel, Kelvin and Michael all dressed up in their suits, they were looking so fresh and dope at the same time, "great timing dude, please come help me out" i pleaded with them and they all took their various positions and helped me out with my suit. My father walked in with his native attire, for some reason, he decided to sew a native attire for my wedding ceremony based on my mom's sister advice but it looks good on him though

"I can see your best friends are here to help you out, i do adore your relationship so much" he said and we all greeted him while i rushed to give him a tight hug, "today is the D-Day father and we are going to leave our mark in the history of all weddings" i replied jokingly and we all smiled as he left the room so that i can carry on with my dressing activity. I and my friends walked to the living room to grab a cup of coffee with toasted bread and i couldn't eat much because i was too anxious.

   We eventually left the house few minutes later as my dad made all the cars move in a convey as if we are  heading to the white house for an important meeting. On getting to the church, i saw the huge crowd of people who were waiting outside the church and so many photographers were busy taking pictures of me and my best friends while my father walked into the church to wait for me. I and my friends walked in majestically like prince's, Elena was nowhere to be found but i remained calm because all eyes were on me and the number of people in the church if counted will amount to a thousand people so i can't afford to lose guard myself in the presence of all these people.

I walked to the alter with my friends and we stood there In a romantic way, something tells me that Elena might be stuck in traffic but we just have to act like everything is okay if we don't want our guest to start suspecting anything. And just when i thought everything was over, Elena and some beautiful angels walked in looking so breath taking and the choristers started singing some romantic melodious songs as she walked in slowly.

  All eyes were on her and she smiled when she saw me on the alter, "damn this girl is fine bro, i would have snatched her from you when i had the chance" Kelvin teased. She walked straight to me and the Reverend father came to the pulpit as he smiled at us. "Today is a glorious day in the sight of men and in the sight of God for this two individuals will be united as one big family.

And they will grow to love each other more than any other thing in the world, their marriage today will serve as a beautiful door to other future marriages" he said and the whole crowd shouted amen. We held our hands together and looked at each other as the pastor held his bible and ordered me to bring my ring, "Mr Andrew, you must say this after me" he insisted and i simply nodded to show that i understood what he said.

   "I Andrew, will take Mrs Elena here to be my lovely wedded wife till death do us part" he said and i repeated this exact same thing while sliding the ring into Elena's fingers and now it's her turn. She brought her own ring which was made up of pure gold, i knew my father was responsible for this because my name was crested on it boldly with a love sign by the side. But nevertheless, I'm still happy that we both are getting married to each other right now and looking at the diamond ring in her fingers, i smiled a bit knowing that she is going to be mine forever

"I Mrs Elena will take Mr Andrew here as my lovely wedded husband and i will love him till death do us part" the Reverend said and she repeated the same thing he said as she carefully slid the gold ring on my middle finger and after this happened, the whole crowd stood up to clap for us. It was a joyful moment and the choristers started singing with joy and happiness and I held Elena's by the neck and kissed her passionately, causing the crowd to scream and cheer us as if we were in a concert. The Reverend clapped for us as we kept kissing each other for close to three minutes nonstop, i didn't want to let go because her lips tasted so good and i felt like living this moment over and over again
