Vivian blinked her eyes to clear her blurred vision and slowly turned around,
A shiver ran through her body at the realization that Susan is now dead, she will never return again.
"My dear friend, I will miss you"
Her voice echoed back to her and Vivian sighed,
"Susan did not just die of panic attack, she was murdered"
The realization dawned on Vivian. She shook her head sadly,
"I am sorry my dear friend that I could not protect you. We all failed you."
She murmured as she walked away from the hospital blindly.
Zain saw her and horned then jumped out of the car when he saw that she could not hear him.
Vivian felt hands on her shoulders and looked up ,
"Vivy?"
Zain asked worriedly as he took a look at her face.
"Yes, Zain?"
Dhe smiled weakly at him and hugged him.
"Are you alright? What is wrong?"
Zain said. He was no longer worried about himself but Vivian, he knew how Susan and Vivian's friendship is so she must be hurting.
Before he knew it, tears were streaming down Vivian's face. She had stopped walking and he looked up at her, worry written on his face.
He could see her struggling to keep hold on herself.
"She said I should tell you that she loves you and you should dare not hurt her sister and again, her baby will be alright, she would make sure of that"
The last part was whispered, so low he almost didn't hear it but he heard it loud and clear. She was crying now.
Zain wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a hug while stroking her hair soothingly.
Vivian buried herself in his shirt. Zain needed no one to tell him Vivian was referring to Susan.
Zain could barely contain his anger.
"Why would someone have the heart to kidnap my baby and do I trust Susan to keep her safe, will I be able to see baby Claire again?"
He cried silently, his chest tightening with emotion as he held Vivian close. He was scared of the unknown, not knowing what is gonna happen next. He also needed someone by his side to reassure him that everything will be fine and soon enough, and that person should be Jenny.
Thinking of Jenny, he remembered that he left her not in a good shape and and there is a need to get home to her. He guesses she is the only family he has now. Of course she is
"Let me take you home"
Zain offered and Vivian nodded in his arms.
He led her to the car and helped her inside, got over on his own side and drove away a moment later.
In the midst of the crowd stood one person staring at the car as it disappeared,
"I did not know it was going to be this easy. Now let me sit and watch the drama unfold"
He muttered, turned and left. Susan smiled sadly at the pentacle where she stopped, turned and left too. It wasn't over for her yet until those who sent her to death pays dearly, it wouldn't be now, in the nearest future when all will be calm and her death would forgotten then she would strike.
Less than twenty minutes, Zain drove into Vivian's driveway and parked,
"You will be fine right?"
Zain asked still worried,
"I will be fine, don't you worry about me. I am sorry for everything."
She replied and reached her hand out and gave him a tight embrace.
When they parted, she leaned over and kissed his forehead.
"Be strong"
She whispered as she opened the car door and stepped outside,
"I will and don't be too hard on yourself. We will all be fine at last"
Vivian smiled then closed the door behind her.
She looked back one last time and looked away sharply, her tears were threatening to fall again. She really does not have the strength to shed more tears but they wouldn't stop coming.
She met Alice halfway who rushed to her and led her into her apartment.
Zain sighed and drove towards his house.
He felt empty as he drove back home.
