"Tasha, you know you are my gist partner so if there is something, you would have been the first to hear it and since you have not heard anything. It simply means there is nothing"
I retorted, annoyed.
"I am the last person you want to talk about this kind of things with"
I stated obviously.
"Sorry girl. I was just curious. Besides, you no longer tell me things."
She said sadly as she stabbed her hot dogs. I sighed.
"Is she trying to play the victim with me? She should better not?"
"Okay if you don't like him can you at least introduce him to me"
Tasha's point of view...
My statement caught her off guard. She was not expecting me to say something like that to her knowing fully well that I am not into boys. Although I have told her I am dating, I am not sure if she believed me. While I try to shake her off a little, I don't want her to lose trust in me completely. I still need her trust to accomplish what I have in mind.
"Tasha you amuse me, you and I know you are not..."
She stopped when she realized where we are. I smiled.
"What's wrong? Is because you like him that's why you don't want to introduce him to me. Who knows, he might be the one for me."
My statement was accompanied by a secret wink. I saw her lips twitch a tiny bit.
"If you're trying to scare me, it's not working"
She answered smugly.
"I am not scaring you. I am just saying if you are not interested in him. Introduce us to each other."
I maintained.
"Tasha, can you allow me to eat in peace"
I could hear the sound of her gritting teeth. I don't know but I was kind of pleased seeing her angry.
"I told you, she likes him. If not, why will she be angry like that?"
Lizzy keyed in for the third time. She was really enjoying this as much as I was enjoying it.
"It baffles me why kids these days do nothing but talk about boys. when I was your age, I never had any boyfriend"
Jenny's mom said and scoffed. A smile spread across Jenny's face.
"Mom, really? You seem to forget you told me you met dad at seventeen but you could not date him because you were not up to eighteen and you said that you would have dated him if you were permitted. You both started dating when you turned eighteen. So tell now one, what do you mean?"
Jenny asked, smiling.
"Well you caught me there, so? That doesn't mean it should be about boys. I understand you all perfectly"
The response from her mother was something I never expected. And also, I did not even know about this piece of information. That's when it dawned on me that there are things I don't know about Jenny. I have claimed to know everything about her.
"It's fine mom. It's Tasha you should be telling that not me. She is the one who is talking about boys"
Jenny said, eyeing me. I glanced back at her and nodded my head as a sign of agreement and approval. I then gave her my most charming smile and added "Of course, Jenny"
That earned me a glare from her but I ignored it. Instead I turned to look at her mom and Lizzy who had their faces blank. I couldn't help but chuckle and then I turned back to look at my food once again. I knew it was only a matter of time before Jenny would notice me smirking.
"Whatever!"
She replied and pushed her plate away from her and then stood up.
I raised an eyebrow and gave her a questioning look.
"Don't look at me like that. I am okay"
She said, glaring at me. I rolled my eyes. She is such a drama queen.
"Jenny, sit down so you can have some fruits."
Zain was already pushing his plate away by the time he was done with the reply.
He picked a clean plate and started adding fruits to the plate. When Jenny saw what he was doing she sat down.
I looked down at my meal and realized that I hadn't eaten it half because I was talking.
"Open up, sweetie"
Zain said and Jenny opened her mouth as he began feeding her the fruits.
Watching Zain being so affectionate towards Jenny made my blood boil. I felt like strangling him.
"Jenny is mine and mine only"
