Vengeful

I ignored her and sat down then set the water pack before me. Lizzy is just a clown. Like she is really competing with me. My dead sister acknowledged Zain is mine and a stranger is here trying to be a thorn in my flesh. I was really holding back before but now with assurance of Susan, I would not give Lizzy a room to disrespect me.

"What do you have there, honey?"

Mom asked.

"It's a soul soothing tea from Thomas, Zain's neighbor?"

I replied stealing a glance at Zain to see his reaction. He smirked because he saw me.

 "You mean our neighbor?"

He asked and raised his brows. I smiled when I understood what he is trying to do.

  "Yes, our neighbor"

 I confirmed.

Zain grinned while my Mom laughed at me. Then he winked at me which made me blush.

"So can we eat now?"

Lizzy screamed and all turned to look at her.

  "Stop screaming, will you?"

Zain shouted and she rolled her eyes.

"You would dare not tell me what to do, you hear me. It's either we eat now or no one will eat here"

She threatened.

"Oh really? I made the breakfast and it's right if you wait for me. If you are that hungry, you should have waken up early enough to make something for yourself. You think anyone is your slave?"

I fired back at her. My eyes caught Tasha laughing with her eyes and I rolled my eyes.

"I don't even know what I am going to do with that one"

I thought, frustratedly.

Lizzy stood up abruptly and made to walk away when I spoke up,

"You seems to forget who is in charge here. If you don't eat with us, you eat nothing from here"

She slowly turned around and walked towards me.

"Says who, you are a little girl that I can deal with if I choose to. Don't be too disrespectful because I can bite and my bites are always painful"

I wasn't moved an inch by her threats.

"Enough both of you, Lizzy if you don't want to eat, you can go or better still leave my house. I don't even know what you are doing here? Gosh!"

Zain shouted angrily. Lizzy gritted her teeth and turned swiftly towards the door.

"You know what. I am eating this breakfast with you all and I am not leaving here"

She said before returning to her seat. I glared at her as she settled down. This bitch has no idea how vengeful I can be. She is really getting on my nerves.

"I'm sorry mom"

I heard Zain say quietly and apologetically to mom.

"Is Lizzy not the one who is supposed to apologize?"

I asked myself

"Don't worry about it"

Mom answered calmly.

"Alright guys, let's eat"

Tasha said for the first time today. Zain winked at me and urged me to eat. He had my own breakfast dished out while I was getting the door.

We all started to eat in silence. The air was tense and awkward. After a while Tasha broke the silence.

"You know Jenny, If I don't know you I would have thought you have got something with this neighbor guy of yours. I was wondering why he would send a tea to you"

I narrowed my eyes at Tasha to observe her but her expression was just neutral. She is never a person to hide her feelings. Every word of her is followed by a look to give you the hint of what she felt at the moment she said that particular word. But as she said those words now, there was no expression on her face to accent the meaning behind her words.

Should I say I left her for four days and she has changed beyond recognizable.

I wonder where she is getting this her new attitude. I can't see my best in her again.

I didn't answer but continued eating.

"Come on Jenny, I am curious. Does he like you?"

She insisted yet I kept quiet.

"I bet he likes her and this one here likes him as well. What can explain why she would accept a tea from him if she doesn't like him"

Lizzy said disdainfully and I felt like slapping her across the face. How can she and Tasha be making up stories before me? Is this how low Tasha has become?

Mom kept watching while she ate. She was just waiting to see how I would react to what those two were talking about. Truth is, I don't have anything to say to them
