The two men stared at themselves for a while before Francis decided to sit down.
"You know, I don't know why my spirit likes you. I don't usually click with people but here I am doing it effortlessly. Don't you think we might be great friends?"
Owen chuckled and shook his head. He was greatly amused.
"You might be right, I don't know."
Owen replied,
"I heard you saying, you just came into town, you are from here or you are here to visit?"
He asked further and Francis nodded negatively
"No, I'm here to visit my girlfriend. She had an operation and because work could not allow me, I am just arriving."
"Oh, hope she is out of danger now?"
"She is. Something, it's good to have friends who would come to your aid at anything"
"He said. Owen did not understand what he meant by that statement yet agreed with him.
"Sure, that is good"
Owen nodded,
"So tell me, are you here to visit or you live here at White Hill?"
"I am on a vacation. There is alot on my head right now that having a vacation was what I needed"
"That's good. We work to live a good life. When you feel the pressure is too much. Take a break"
Francis said looking around, at last his stares landed on the laptop.
"You don't look like you are on vacation. You are still working even on vacation.
Owen shrugged and answered simply "sometimes, you might just need the vacation to wrap up something. I guess this is one of these vacations. Don't worry about me. I am just bored and working even though I am on vacation is keeping me busy"
Francis thought for a while.
"What if I show you round town after I might have seen my girlfriend tomorrow. There is much to see in White Hill.
It was a good idea but Owen doesn't trust easily enough to agree with him.
He scanned Francis's eyes and saw nothing there but sincerity.
"I am not sure if I have time for such an adventure."
Owen stated.
"Why not? okay, what if I get Kulture to get off work tomorrow and take you instead, she will be glad to"
The offer was tempting and Owen found out he could not refuse if he wanted to.
"There is no need to get her off work, she is working night shift so she would be chance but I think she would rather rest than take me round town"
Francis chuckled,"Yeah well it's her choice anyway and she is the only one that could help you get through that tough time because she has this her way of making someone forget their worries. I bet you, she would forfeit her rest to give you a tour. I know her so well to know she is into you. So, what do you say?"
Owen thought for a second.
"Okay"
He responded.
Francis smiled at that,
"Come on, let me make sure you eat because that was her last request before I left her"
Owen needed no one to tell him that the HER Francis is referring to is Kulture.
No has ever told him what to do but here he is listening to a dude and his sister in-law.
"Give me a minute let me put something on, I wouldn't want to go out and cause uproar out there"
Owen said getting up and walking to the closet. He opened it and started searching for something to wear. He found something simple and comfortable enough which fit perfectly on his large frame.
He quickly changed into that and put on his flip flops.
Francis stood up when it was obvious his new friend was ready to go.
They walked out and Owen closed the door.
Getting to the dining area, it was almost deserted. Just a few people were still around.
"Lucky you"
Francis said, pulling a chair.
"For what?"
Owen asked and pulled a chair to for himself.
"For not missing dinner"
Francis replied and winked at Kulture who was stealing glances at them. Owen did not notice what's going on, he only focused on getting fed and going to bed which he might have been doing now if not for the fact that he was dragged out to have dinner.
"Missing dinner is not a big deal, I can manage"
