"Hi Tasha, were you planning to leave without going into the ice cream shop?"
Felix asked, walking over to me. He had a plastic bag with him and it looked like he just stepped out because his sports car was parked a few inches away from the shop or let's say he is just coming into the ice cream shop for the first time today which I doubt. I really don't get it, the Shylins are one of the richest in town yet Mrs Shylin, his grandmother runs an ice cream shop.
I chuckled nervously" Ahaaa! not really."
I responded, scratching my hair in an awkward manner.
"Let me get this straight, you had in mind to come here and at the last minute, you changed your mind because you might run into me?"
He caught me right there and I don't know how to tell him he is wrong which I know he is not.
I chuckled as I nodded" Yeah that's what it looks like."
He gave me an odd look before he turned towards the door and started walking in.
"Felix darling, where did you go to?"
I heard Mrs Shylin questioning him.
"I went to pick up something, sorry I did not tell you I was stepping out"
Felix responded
"It's fine"
Her voice was tiny and sweet.
I gave up the resolve not to go inside and walked in.
Surprisingly, the shoe was filled with customers, most of whom were teenages. The tables were almost occupied.
I sigheted her at the corner of the counter and walked to her .
Mrs Shylin smiled when she saw me and I tried to smile back but my face must be showing the fact that it was uncomfortable.
"There you are. I was beginning to think you wouldn't want to come here again."
She said with a slight chuckle.
"Yeah! sorry about that" I apologized
She giggled a bit" Well it's fi..
Before she even finished talking, a guy yelled out" Mrs Shylin! We have been waiting for so long now!"
"Alright, I am coming " She said hurriedly and turned to me, "I better go and attend to my customers. Felix will see to your comfort"
She added before giving me a kiss on top of the head. Her lips lingered for some seconds before she left.
I stood there looking around. All the girls were looking at their phones while the guys have their heads tilted slightly trying to hear what's being said by the girls.
Suddenly, Felix came up to me "Hey!"
I smiled at him, not wanting to scare him with my face "Hello."
"Shall we?"
I followed behind him "To...to where?"
I asked after him. He took my hand and I looked around making sure no one saw our intertwined hands.
Felix gave me a sly glance before looking at me, his eyes were sparkling and he grinned.
His dimples appeared and he chuckled, I swear I'm gonna melt.
"You can't melt Tasha, you don't like boys"
I cautioned myself
"Don't worry you'll see soon enough."
I just nodded, still confused as hell about why we're headed outside of the shop "Where are we going?" I could not help but to ask again.
He stopped walking and looked at me before replying
"I am taking you to the car, nowhere else. Just to sit and know ourselves, do you have a problem with that?"
"No, I mean yes but, not really".
He chuckled once again
"Good. Come then "
He pulled me along by my wrist and took a small route to the parking lot.
We got inside the back seat of the sleek grey Audi and I could feel my heart pounding faster.
My hands shook slightly and I gripped tightly onto the armrests trying to stop them from trembling. I looked through the mirror only to see him staring at me.
"You seem pretty nervous? Here"
He said grabbing my left hand and rubbing my palm together with his" It helps to calm the nerves down"
I gulped and closed my eyes trying hard not to look at him. I felt like if I opened my eyes I would find him already looking at me with those deep brown eyes. I shook my head trying to clear my thoughts.
He made me feel like a teenage girl who's into girls. How would I know when I had refused to know what it feels like to be pampered by a boy.
"Are you alright?"
The words brought me back to reality.
I nodded.
He placed his hands on both sides of his body and smiled. His expression showed nothing but care and concern. It felt weird but also kinda comforting.
