Thirteen Years

 13 YEARS LATER…..

WHITE HILLS...

Jenny's point of view….

I groaned as mom would not stop whining. She wants Michael and Mitchell back home for a short while. I have been taking them home for the past thirteen years and there has never been a problem, only that I want us to do something different, like go on summer vacation and something else.

I promised them that we will do more than traveling home this summer vacation and we all are eagerly waiting for the holiday to arrive and mom had come with her ethics again.

"Mom, why don't you come to Hills this time around. WE have been the one coming home for the past 13 years and YOU haven't even try to come and see us. So I don't think I'm buying this your coming home with this kids this time around.  It's either you come to us or you get nothing"

I had to be plain with her, I am sick and tired of dancing to her tunes every time.

"Jennifer, why would you think I will leave my husband's house to come to yours?"

She fired angrily on the phone and I sighed. Here we go again.

"Mom, no one is asking you to leave dad's place. All I am saying is that we have had plans for this summer and the twins are looking forward to it. I can't tell them that we have cancelled again, they will be heartbroken. Just visit us this time around, we will have fun. You get to step out of home for the first time in thirteen years"

She huffed and I heard something moving in the background then a voice came through.

"You better don't listen to her. She has become a thick head over the years. Do what's best for you this time around, she will not die"

Miss Celine's voice came through the phone. I did not realize she was at mom's place.

"Give me the phone, young woman"

Mom snitched and I bet you she snatched the phone from her because I heard little struggle between them.

These two are the best friends and worst enemies combined together.

You know, Miss Celine over the years got married and she is expecting her second child at the moment. I was so relieved when I found out. Michael and Mitchell now have cousins because that's what they like to call them. They refer to Miss Celine as my sister.

Getting them to call me mother was a terrible homework for me, it was never easy. I tried, I wept yet nothing was coming out of it until they decided on their own to do it. I guess that's my little punishment for making them spend the first two years of their lives aside from me.

"Mom, I am done listening to you. If you are not coming, forget about seeing us this summer. Have a good day"

I said and hung the call. She can't just start the morning with nagging, ruining my day in the process.

I turned on the bed and it was 6:30 in the morning.

I have got to get up if not all of us will leave here late today. I have got a cook and a housekeeper yet I do all the work because Michael and Mitchell would not hear that some kind of person prepared breakfast for them and I don't even have the balls to fire the people I have employed

They are turning fifteen in a few months yet the workload keeps getting bigger everyday, instead of lessening.

I brought myself down from the bed lazily and picked my night robe then walked out of the room, sleepily.

I don't think I have had anything to regret. I had missed Zain for years and I never stopped loving him. It kills me every time I remember that Michael and Mitchell might not call him father someday. That's the work of that b****rd but he will pay dearly for making me loveless and my children fatherless.

After we left home that night, we lodged in a hotel. The next day, I drove us to the nearest town and that's White Hill and it has been our home for the past thirteen years. This place is cool and quiet, almost everyone here lives a stress-free life.

With the money in the kid's account, I went back to school and established a mini restaurant that turned mega a few years later. I enrolled them in school and I can tell you that it has been success upon success. I even have my own mini house now, a bungalow like mom's. I don't have to pay for rent anymore.

I am not the typical billionaire mom but I can say I am a millionaire, all thanks to Harrison but that wouldn't stop me from giving him the piece of my mind when the time comes.
