Lora staggering backward but I cared less about it. The impact of the push was much on her
Claire was surprised, I knew it because it was boldly written on her face. This is the last thing I want her to see.
"Claire"
I called out to her when I regained my composure.
"Sorry uncle, I should not have barged in like that. I will come back later."
She said all that rapidly and turned to leave when Lora went down on her knees and grabbed Claire's leg.
"Please Claire, help tell you uncle not to throw me away, I beg you"
That was something I never expected to happen. She knew I wasn't going to refuse Claire anything. Funny thing is she never did anything when I was pushing her out of my room but now she saw Claire she decided to take the opportunity, that's how cunning she is. Sometimes I wonder if those fears I see in her eyes are real or make up.
Before Claire could respond I stepped forward and pulled Claire closer to me. Lora immediately removed her hands from Claire's legs and moved a little further from us, I guess the glare I have her did the work.
"Claire, you go now I will take care of this"
I said, trying to make her leave the room before she speaks on Lora's behalf.
"Is there something wrong, Uncle?"
She asked, confused.
"No nothing, just please leave and stop bothering uncle" I said and began pushing her out of the room.
Lora tried to speak but I glared at her again. I opened the door and pushed Claire out of the room but before I could close the door, Claire turned and faced me, "Are you throwing her out of the mansion?"
"No, I am not but she has to leave"
I responded avoiding her stares.
"But the mansion is too big to contain everyone. Please uncle, don't chase her away. She is not a bad person"
I swallowed hard. This is what I was afraid of. I can't say no to her and there is no way I will let Lora stay here any more. She has to leave, her mere presence irritates me a lot.
"Claire, you can't say if she is bad or not. You are too young to understand things like this. People are not who you think they are so don't be fooled by the actions displayed by them in pretence"
She nodded then left. I have a feeling that it's not over yet. She will come to me to talk about it and I hope by then Lora will be gone.
"You don't think I will let you throw me out like that after these years, huh?"
Her voice sounded scornful and I smiled before turning to face her. There was no fear in her eyes, rather she had a smudged look on face with her arms folded on her chest and something I could not quite make out from her eyes.
"I wasn't expecting you to leave without a fight. I had wanted to ask myself if it was you in here all along. The only problem you have now is proving to me when we got married, if you are able to prove that, you can stay but if you can't, be ready to dance to my tunes, now leave my room"
Lora stared at me intensely for a few seconds but finally gave me a smile"I might have been calm in the past but not anymore. I loved you and still love you. I stayed with you for these thirteen years because you are everything I want. I won't let you replace me with any other woman. Zain Zidat, whether you like it or not, you and I are stuck with each other for life."
It was her confidence for me. I felt like applauding her right now or even kissing her to be so confident but then, her confidence is a sign of foolishness. How long will she continues to stay with a man who doesn't want her.
It's a pity that She would choose to be here with me when she knows fully well that I don't want her. I know her type and it won't be easy handling her.
"Zain, I can't believe you let her stay with you for so long. What were you thinking? That having her around will make you forget Jenny? You thought so wrong and now that she has refused to leave your house, what are you going to do about it?"
Those questions kept running through my mind.
I agreed to date her, yes but I should have thrown her out of my house since. Well it doesn't mean I wouldn't have to do it now. Lora Leigh is no match for me, I will just leave her to see how far she can fight me. I promise her that from now on, her stay here will be miserable.
"We'll see"
I answered. If she can't leave now, by the time I am done with her, she will leave on her own. No one has to tell her what I am capable of, she knows that herself.
With a hand indication, I led her out of my room. This time, she did not protest but left willingly.
Having closed my door, I walked back to the bed and loosen my tie then ripped off every damn cloth on my body and headed to the bathroom. A warm bath will erase the thought of someone like Lora. She has become a nightmare to me.
I was just about closing the bathroom door when a knock sounded and I groaned, heading back to break the person's head with a balled fist. Heaven helps Lora if she is the one.
