Bad Energy

   I smiled at how tiny her voice sounded at the moment. I was relieved that she is okay. Claire is very bad at hiding her feelings so I am sure she is not having any problem or I would have found out through her voice.

  "I miss you too, it's just today and half of tomorrow, by evening you will be back home"

"I know right. Don't worry, while I am here,I will take care of myself, uncle"

She promised.

 "I trust you to do that, my darling

I responded, trying reassured my trust in her

She laughed at my answer.

"Okay, have a good day then. Help me say my morning to mom and dad for me"

   With that the call went silent. I handed the phone to Spike and rolled off the bed, heading out to get a drink. I could have asked Spike to get me or make use of the bar in my room but I just thought of stepping out of my room to see how the mansion is this morning.

   I walked past Owen 's bedroom and it looked like both were still sleeping. Only heaven knows what happened between the two last night.

  Suddenly going out on a date, I expected something to happen. I pushed the thought at the back my mind and continued to walk. Every corner of the mansion has one servant or guard doing one thing or the other.

  They all bowed in greetings at the sight of me. I returned their greeting with a wave of my hand and continued walking. 

I got the the bar eventually and found Lora there drinking. I was surprised not because she was drinking but because it was too early for her.

  I masked my expression and ignored her totally while pulling out a french wine and taking a seat on one of the stool. A servant approached me to help me out but I sent her away.

  I am not handicap, I can do these things myself. I wasn't born a billionaire, I became one so I knew what life was before. I'm not an idiot.

     Lora eyed me carefully, I could sense her wariness but decided to ignore it. She has right to her feelings. If you is tired of being here, she should take a walk. She is only making it worse for herself.

   I took a large sip of wine, enjoying the sweet aftertaste. I simply can not look at her face this morning. Having her in the same space is bad enough for me. She is an example of bad energy.

After the long silence between us, I heard her sigh.

"Can you stop ignoring me? We need to talk."

I looked up from my wine glass and met her gaze with an unimpressed expression. 

"So you can actually talk?"

I asked with boredom.

  "Oh please, cut me some slack"

She exclaimed annoyed and crossed her arms over her chest. I rolled my eyes and turned back towards my wine.

"There is nothing to discuss. I don't want to see you and neither do you want to see me. That is the only way it needs to go."

I stated firmly and drank the rest of my wine in a few gulps.

"Why are you doing this?"

Lora said angrily. She already knows the answer but if she wants me to tell her again, let her be my guest.

"Because I hate you. The fact that you don't have self dignity crawls on my skin. Who in her right senses with stay with a man who is not married to her for years"

My words made her flinch as if they hurt her, of course it did hurt her.

  "You keep treating me this way,Zain. I have done nothing but to love you. I nurtured you out of heartbreak and my reward is you treating me like a piece of trash. You really don't know what I am capable of."

I chuckled slightly and gave her toast with the empty wine glass.

"You are a funny woman. You think you did me a favour? I wasn't the one who proposed dating, you did and now you are playing an emotional game with me. Too bad, it doesn't work on me. You might try another ethics''

My lips curled in a smirk knowing that she is frustrated at my response. I felt the anger radiating through the room.

"Don't push your luck, Zain."

She snapped, standing up from her seat.

"I should say the same to you. If you can't stand the heat, take a walk. I am tired of seeing your angry face in my mansion"

I replied without missing a beat, getting up from my seat as well. I turned around to face her and leaned closer.

" You can try but you are no match for me. Maybe I should warn you, be careful because I am deadly. You obviously have not seen me where I deal with my enemy."

I said and licked my lips slowly, looking directly at her.

  "In case you have not noticed, Claire is not here so no one will save you today"

She raised her brows at me,"What do you mean by that?"
