Since Mitchell and Michael left home, they have been in this park doing nothing. Both could count how many words they had said to each other since they arrived.
Leaving home, they had in mind to stroll and do nothing else until they are calmed and come to terms with their new reality. Walking past the old park, they decided to sit for a while and take in the moment. Both were about to leave when they heard a crunching sound and a moment later a man ran out of the car. From where they were sitting, they had sighted a girl in the car and wondered what she was doing in the car and why the man ran out. They had the urge to go see if she was okay but they did not and as fate might have it, she got out of the car and started walking towards them.
"You look frightened, was something chasing you?"
Mitchelle asked and hugged her instead. She did not know why she had to hug the girl.
Claire did not hesitate and hugged her back.
"Nothing really, just silly me being afraid. My driver left to get help and I could not stay in the car. I was afraid that everything started looking harmful to me."
Claire answered, still clinging on to her. She felt comfortable being wrapped into Mitchell arms but did not realise that the feeling is mutual. As time passed by, she relaxed her grip on her hold on Mitchell. After another five minutes had passed, she realised that she had been gripping her with quite a lot of strength. Noticing that, she slowly let go.
"I'm sorry"
She stuttered embarrassed and turned away.
"I didn't think I was squeezing you so hard"
She murmured quietly. Her cheeks were red.
"Oh! That wasn't tight I assure you"
Mitchell reassured her with a smile.
"I presumed your car has a fault"
Claire nodded in response.
"okay, I am Mitchell and this is my twin brother, Michael"
Claire's eyes widened as she covered her mouth in ultmost shock.
Mitchell chuckled at her reaction. It's surprising to her that she is smiling after what happened.
"I did not realize you both are twins. It's nice to meet you both. I am just the only child so I don't know what it feels like to have a sibling"
Her voice turned sad at the end of the statement and all Mitchell and Micheal could do was stare at her because they had no clue how to console her.
They three of them has not really come to the realization that the two girls looked like each other.
"But I don't feel lonely because my uncle loves me like I am his own. He would do anything for me. My dad loves me too but it doesn't measure how my uncle loves me."
Claire said softly before sighing." But I don't have a good relationship with my mom"
Michael glanced at Mitchell and sighed. He was not cut out for the sad talk from this strange girl that looks familiar to him. He has his own problems and to think of anything outside the box, he is not welcome to.
He turned and walked back to the bench both were sitting down on earlier.
"Come on, let's sit and wait for your driver to return with help"
Mitchell offered, turned and followed Michael. Claire shrugged her shoulders excitedly and followed them too.
Three of them got seated and the place fell silent.
Claire could tell that the twins were not happy. She was beginning to wonder what two of them would be doing in an old park on a Saturday morning looking so downcast.
"So.. You guys aren't from around here? Or are you local"
Claire inquired, hoping to gain something from the situation.
"We're are not local but we live here, few blocks away from here"
Michael said, his first words since they met Claire.
"Oh, I see. I am from Reben Castle and my family is one of the elite ones. You both aren't looking poor which means your family is wealthy too"
Michael chuckled.
"We are not poor and not rich either but we go to one of the best schools in town. That's show how superfie our mom is"
Michael said, praising their Mom. No matter what their Mom remains their superwoman, their support system and their best friend. This phase will pass and things will go back to normal. He has faith in that.
Claire grinned, "I would like to meet your mom someday"
Michael nodded and they all fell silent again.
After a while, Mitchell looked up at Claire, questioning.
Claire caught her staring," What! Why are you staring at me like that?"
"I am wondering why you are looking like me"
Mitchell said and Michael raised and narrowed his eyes on his sister's face, the same way, he narrowed his eyes on Claire and truly, he saw that his sister and Claire looked alike. It was more of an older and younger siblings' resemblance. If not that he knows who Mitchell looks like, he would have doubted their maternity right now. What he has to find out is if the Claire before them is a relative somehow.
