Car Breakdown

The car came to an abrupt stop, jacking Claire off her thoughts. She looked at the driver and found him struggling with the steering. She wondered what's going on as she looked around to understand where they are. Susan was not in the car either.

The driver has been driving around the town on her order. Claire had in mind to get down at some point and use her leg, because that was the plan but after the argument she had at home, she was no longer in the mood to do anything of sort so she thought to let the driver drove around. If at some point, she wants to do like she had wanted, she will beg her driver and hopefully he will agree or she will make him. It just looks like the car had decided to grant her the wish of her heart even though she is no longer interested in that wish. Her only problem is the area why the car had stopped.

It's a deserted part of the town. The place looks so quiet and lonely, fear gripped her instantly. Too bad she is left alone with the driver.

Claire looked ahead and saw something like a park.

  "Is there something wrong, Sir?"

She carefully asked. The fears in her voice were omitted by concern. The driver sighed and looked at her.

"I don't understand what's going on. This is the remote part of the town. I don't even know how to get a mechanic and I am not sure anyone at your granny's place will send help regarding the way things are going at the moment and if I call you uncle, he would definitely send an escort and your weekend is over and I know you don't want that"

He explained. Claire nodded as she listened to him attentively while taking in his words. He then continued.

"I am so sorry the car broke down. The least I can do now is find a mechanic..."

He paused and Claire said at him,"

"You mean we go find the mechanic?"

The driver shook his her in disaffirmative way.

"No, I was thinking you sit in the car and I will go into town to get a mechanic. I wouldn't be long"

Claire looked around and swallowed. In as much as here is creaping her out. She still doesn't want to follow the driver.

"Or you want to tag along?"

Claire remained quiet and the driver sighed again.

"The reason I don't want you to come with me is that you will delay me. I feel if I go alone, I will get help faster and we will leave here as soon as possible but if you can't handle it, let's go then"

He stated. The fear in her eyes disappeared but only for a while and returned shortly afterwards.

"No, don't worry. I will manage. I will lock the car while you are gone"

The driver nodded at her and got down. She took a deep breath and locked up the car then sunk deeper into her seat to avoid anyone seeing her.

Few minutes passed and she started shivering. The fear intensified and she tried to control herself with all her might but it felt useless.

Suddenly, She unbuckled her seat belt and opened the door then jumped out of the car.

"It's better to be in the open when you can ask for help when something happens"

She reasoned as she started moving forward to the entrance of the park.

It was silent but she could hear the sound of the car's tires hitting the road from a distance. It's the silence that made her panic more and the fact that nothing happened made her more afraid. She continued to walk towards the entrance of the park, instead of getting away she was getting drawn into the park. It did occur to her that dangers might be lurking around there since it's lonely yet she continued to make her way forward.

Suddenly, she stopped and turned to see if anybody was following her but none. When she turned again she came face to face with two teenagers, a girl and a boy. Claire stood rooted to a spot as her eyes darted from the boy to the girl who kept exchanging glances and returning it back to her. Claire has two questions going through her mind. First, where did they come from? She was sure no one was in sight when she was coming towards the park. And secondly, why the feeling of familiarity

Claire finally stopped darting her eyes and focused her attention on the girl. At first she wanted to reach out to her and asked her why she left her all alone in the car but looking closer she realized that the girl is Susan's younger version.

With that wave of realization, she began moving towards them.

  "Hi"

She mumbled, extending her hand to them in greetings. Mitchell and Michael stared at her outstretched hand without taking it.

All they could see from her was a rich pompous brat who looked shaken from heaven knows what.
